This channel is clearly a CeCePee propaganda channel. I mean, why would he frame the whole topic in this one-sided way?! He only showed the heavily biased article and commentary from China and their unofficial mouthpiece, the "global times". How about including Japanese or other western commentary on this topic. It is obvious that China does not want a strong Japan, which could defy the CeCePee´s goal for domination. Japan is a major power, with a huge potential for a domestic military industrial complex, and therefore the power to define and defend their own national security. The authoritarian and dictatorial CeCePee is clearly against any potential power that could interfere with their expansionist policy. If you look at the changing security structure and dynamic in the pacific, especially due to the massive increase in spending and capability, but ultimately the expansionist and assertive CeCePee policy in the region, forces Japan to either do nothing and get pushed around and in the worst case their sovereignty taken away, or increase their spending and capability too, while simultaneously changing their defense policy and structure, which means reinterpreting THEIR constitution or better changing it, so that it suits their needs. But what I find most ridiculous is the hypocrisy from the CeCePee and their lil followers that repeat their ridiculous claims. It is JAPANS constitution, they can decide and define their own destiny how they see fit. How laughable is it that the CeCePee is building carriers and whatever they want, further trying to bully every other state into submission, or coercing/forcing other states to do whatever they want, and even waging war on their borders, but criticize Japan for taking their national security serious. You should be ashamed for playing along with the interests of such an oppressive dictatorial regime like the one of the CeCePee, that treats its people like slaves and takes their freedom, liberty and ultimately their lives. They do not represent the Chinese people. (at least not those with open eyes and a pure heart, but only those who are manipulated or truly fascist in their worldview) They are only interested in their power and domination.

The Izumo is an evolutionary design towards a true aircraft carrier. It's original intent was to be a platform for multirole missions particularly geared towards anti-submarine warfare and humanitarian aid. The Japanese are capable of building an aircraft carrier now, but it is politically unpopular and the Navy does not know how to operate such vessels. The Izumo is a testing platform for the Navy to fine tune the logistical, maintenance, training and doctrine of operating a flattop vessel. The JMSDF would rather have a small fleet of affordable and reliable multirole light aircraft carriers with less capability than one offensive super carrier. Because the Japanese already have a super carrier in their backyard, called the 7th Fleet.

The Izumo class, without a catapult, skijump ramp, or arrestor cables, has limited strike capability. The amount of fuel and munitions that can be carried by the F-35s is limited without those features. The lack of arrestor cable limits the sortie rate. What the F-35 gives can do is provide air defense to a surface fleet. While this does not give the JMSDF teh ability to attack China, it does make it difficult for China to attack Japan. In this sense, the light carrier can be considered defensive. An aircraft carrier is not automatically an offensive tool like teh US supercarriers.
@sublimefermion22052 жыл бұрын
Yep keep believing that. F-35s doesn't need arrestor cable, its STOVL type aircraft. It has better stealth and networking capability than any Chinese aircraft for next 25 years. It can carry bombs too. And can be used in offensive role. Though F-35C is better than F-35B in offensive role.
@EurasiaNaval2 жыл бұрын
All of these are good points. My personal view on whether the Izumo class is an offensive or defensive weapon is that the definition is ambiguous. Ultimately it is just a matter of opinion. Even faster or just as fast compared to Ford or Nimitz or any other catapult based carrier. F-35Bs can just do an elephant walk like with any other fighter aircraft do in land, as it can take off using lesser runway. Also don't need arresting gears to land so it can also have the fastest recovery rate. Harriers were also able to do it on a smaller carrier. Only took 50 seconds to launch 4 of them. The Izumo's class designation really is a non-issue. The mass adoption of VTOL aircraft will make any ship with just a landing deck, an "aircraft carrier".
@EurasiaNaval Жыл бұрын
That's not quite true. The flight deck needs to be built to withstand the heat and pressure from VTOL operations. Otherwise it will damage the ship

The speaker is making up this story about China being worried about this Japanese AC Izumo class or whatever category this warship belongs to. This story is laughable at best when China’s arsenals are also ready to strike at Japan at any time. The so called Izumo AC is a ship that is about 30 yrs too late to be comparable with China’s class of aircraft carriers designed specifically for the 21st. century warfare. In addition to China’s ship building capacity which is the largest in the world, China can build several warships simultaneously if needed. It’s now working on the fourth carrier which could be nuclear powered but this is not definitive. The Japanese Izumo warships, regardless of their sizes, would be perfect targets for China’s DF hypersonic missiles to feast on. China’s navy has been designed for the 21st. century war theatre & would serve as monstrous killing machines that would match any foreign naval forces. Japan may revamp its military arsenals but won’t be sufficient to stop China’s DF’s or worst, nukes might be heading towards those islands for Japan has been warned not to play with fire.!

BTW, I ran some calculations on type 003 and the official numbers just don't add up. that carrier's full load is definitely greater than 100,000t. I saw many people on the internet do it too and they got similar answers. Seems that PLAN is lying to us, again.
@EurasiaNaval2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if the actual tonnage is much greater than media reports. That said, I wouldn't necessarily equate Xinghua's reported 85,000+ ton loaded displacement as a claim made by the PLAN. Basically, what I'm saying is I don't think the PLAN lied to begin with - they were simply not saying anything, like usual.

The P.R.C. has no one to blame but themselves and their rapid military expansion. I think history will show that this has been a major mis-calculation by the leadership of the P.R.C. by becoming the world's biggest bully. I would have continued to expand my economic power and carefully grown the military to a reasonable size commiserate with the size of the country instead of challenging the U.S. for a numbers game. Numbers mean little when you have combat experienced commanders and senior n.c.o.'s versus bodies in uniform. They have the numbers and the U.S. and it's allies have the cutting edge in technology and combat experience.

Lol another lame western supremacist telling us Chinese to settle with crumbs and leave the security to the west a.k.a America. What a sick joke. Let me harras you constantly and drive by your house showing off my posse and guns and see how you feel about it. Only a loser would think and suggest your stupid advice. The world is not run by niceties but through power, and whoever wields it can set the terms of the world. Suggesting that China is the biggest bully without providing an iota of evidence other than pointing out Taiwan, South China Sea which one, the former belongs to China and recognized as such by the UN as for the dispute in SCS how's that any difference between the dispute between Greece and Turkey? You comedians want China to give up it's sovereign claims on the disputed Islands to supposedly show it's benign and peaceful intentions and that would have quelled any suspicions from people like you? Who are you fooling? If us Chinese gives an inch to your kind, you'd demand a meter, a kilometer, and then next thing you know we are left with nothing. That also invites and provokes weakness from China's enemies. Perhaps, it's your country that should lead by example in reducing the amount of bases that are placed literally all over the world. You won't do that and for obvious reasons. Another thing, the world isn't owned by the west or the US although your kind has just gotten used to the western ways due to colonization and hegemony that you lot are trying pretty hard to maintain.
