If one has hair on their head whatsoever, they most likely have damage, namely UV and mechanical damage! I have some left over color damage but I mainly use a blow dryer, put my hair up in a jaw clip, and a high ponytail for bed. I like to use K18 at least every 2 to 4 weeks but I'll use it before I use at least a leave in conditioner, ensuring I've waited 4 minutes before using anything else.

I just bit the bullet and purchased it yesterday. I got a bayalage done some days ago and have been wanting to see if this could repair my curls. I got a package deal & it came with the mini detox shampoo. I'm excited and nervous. I've been using the curlsmith bond salve and that has done wonders for my hair. For clarity, I have bleach damage, color damage, heat, & physical damage. All of it!

Thanks for a very interesting and detailed video!! I have really coarse, and naturally dry, long wavy-curly hair and using K18 has really helped to make it feel soft and to make it clump/curl more and for the curls to last for longer in between washes. The first time I used it, I made a mistake and used a moisturising shampoo so the K18 didn't do that much. The second time I used it after a clarifying shampoo. I use a modified Abbey Yung method: shampoo twice, squeeze as much water as possible out of my hair with my hands, apply 2 pumps of K18 to each side of my hair, leave it for 4 minutes, rinse out and condition as normal. The product works really well for me this way. I've also been trying out Epres on alternate weeks and I think it's another really good bond builder/repair product. It's much easier to use: make up the solution in the provided spray bottle (this solution will give 3-6 applications depending on hair density and texture), spray the solution over hair until it gets really damp, brush through with a detangling brush, stick hair in a bun and leave product to work from 10 to 60 mins before shampooing and conditioning as normal. Epres also softens my hair and makes it much less frizzy - I also get more clumps/curls and they last for longer in between washes than they typically do. I've gone from being highly sceptical about bond repair to being very impressed with these two bond repair products.

I LOVE k18! You can actually use conditioner with it according to the brand. My favorite way to use it is in the shower. I clarify my hair, use a microfiber towel to dab my hair of excess water, apply k18, wait 4 mins while I’m shaving my legs, exfoliating etc… after the 4 mins is up it can’t be rinsed out and then you’re free to condition like usual ❤

@@fris.eecurly oooh great hack! When I used it wrong I conditioned as normal after shampooing, and THEN applied the K18, so that’s what I was referring to!

Yes they said they are updating the directions on the package so people will know. I added water after k18 and then a leave in conditioner before a styler. It worked great!

I have been really wanting to try this! Put it off bc it’s so expensive but hoping it will help with my mechanical damage and hard water damage, with hair like yours. Yes, great video! I have just started using the K18 and have felt it has helped reduce dryness and frizz. I wasn’t doing the patting and I was detangling right away so I’m interested in seeing the results with your suggestions. Your hair looks beautiful, as always!

@@debs1664 haha I know I was the same! I thought ahh my hair doesn’t need much curl cream so I don’t wanna use too much of it and weigh it down. But I haven’t experienced that so far!

I haven't tried K18 yet, but I get good results from the Curlsmith salve mixed with Olaplex 1. I use the K18 shampoo though. Great results! Wish my hair would ringlet like that. No matter how long it gets, only the last little bit ringlets. 😢🤷🏻‍♀️

I have curly dyed hair. I used Olaplex with great results and resisted buying it for the price. Then, I had some spare $ and bought it. I had a strand of hhair that was pretty destroyed. It fixed it.

It can damage your hair. There are many people who used it and got dry hair and breakage. Because of the protein. It took one year for my hair to get normal again...

@@Eynjal Protein overload is a thing 100%. But that only happens if you are overusing the product. It does say on it to use as needed. Its not an everyday mask. If your using it wrong that's how the hair gets dry. Thats why it has instructions. I've used it on several clients and myself and its not dry or damaged at all.

I have used the K18 multiple times (to use up my tube) followed the instructions to the letter I always do with everything, I did it 6 times due to bleach and heat damaged mid length hair, I was extremely underwhelmed, especially for the cost. My waves/curls are much juicier and bigger after curlsmith bond salve and I have also recently tried the Opalex bond repair and that is way better on my VERY damaged hair than the K18. I think its a ludicrously expensive product which doesn’t deliver results worthy of even close to the price tag. Maybe it felt like worked well for you because your hair isn’t damaged? I would urge people to try alternative cheaper products because this is a lot of money if like me you find it does literally nothing to improve your hair.

I think everyone lies and says it does something because they are so mad that they got ripped off so bad that they want others to try to to verify it didn't do anything but no one will come out and say it. That company should get sued for how much they are charging for a product that does literally nothing but stink.

@ i did it the same way you did. Many people's hair can't deel with too much protein. Thats the problem. Too much makes the hair stiff and causes breakage

@@Eynjal I've noticed that with a lot of protein products. There was all this hype over protein and it started showing up in everything and it causes breakage for me. I bought K18 twice thinking I had done something wrong because it did nothing at all and it's just a bunk product. You can't even get all the hair strands with such a small amount of product.
