just because I started watching your videos constantly and consistently for 2 months. I was able to drive a normal sedan off road without issues. it was the only car available and I was asked to get some important instruments for a newly wedded couple a day before there wedding. this was of recent. I was smiling all the way and just been grateful for all the extreme off-road videos have watched. I can't wait to get an SUV as my First vehicle.

Matt and Cara!!!! Just got back from a cleanup up north and sat down to watch - AMAZING! Holy cats, you captured the beauty of these trails so well. It was so good to have you with us at Overland the Red!!! Thanks so much for EVERYTHING! For the ladies ride, the Gaia class, and just being great ambassadors for our community. Love you guys, see you soon!

Cool seeing that Land Rover out there. I have a Wrangler myself but I LOVE seeing other vehicles on the trail that you don't often see. I was on Hurricane Creek a year or so ago and saw a Defender out there. Super cool.

Hi Matt, good to see the Conqueror again. Quick share, we took our steps off both sides and carry one two step and one three step Little Giant Ladders. They store on the floor of the camper just inside the door. It makse it so easy to get in and out of the camper now - especially at night if you have to make a potty run. Just thought we would share. We did plug the hotels where the bolts went that hold the steps, we also added a Propex heater where the Heat Pump was - easy install nad way more useful for our use. We use our UEV 490 a lot, just now charged and unplugged the batteries - went with Battle Born's a few years ago and love the added efficiency of the lithium over the old AGM's. Hope to cross paths someday. Thanks for sharing.

You mix those off-road trails with The Kentucky Bourbon Trail, you might have a very strong argument that this is the best off-roading East of the Mississippi!

100% agree with what you said at about 9:30 into the video. The trash is usually not from the overlanders and etc. As a matter of fact, most of us do the cleaning, that I have seen. Very glad you pointed that out! And thanks for inspiring.

Great video as always. Can't wait for part 2. It was very nice meeting you and Cara. And it was such a pleasure getting to wheel with you all. Since I got into the jeep community and started doing trail rides it was a dream to wheel with you all and Coddiwomple Overland. And I got to do that on the same ride! Thank you so very much!!

If you wanna run some fun trails in the KY/TN area, start on the KAT where you started on your last trip but run East. There are a couple of fun sections between there and Jellico, TN. And then from there, there are a TON of fun spots all the along the WVA line up to VA. I think that section has some of the most technical portions. You def need to do the trail up to Hensley Settlement. It's fun and the settlement is a cool spot to check out.Make sure you have a chain saw with you as well! I was up in KY the same weekend as your trip here and wound up having to use my winch and an axe to clear a trail. A lot of work and I def won't forget my chainsaw ever again!

They would all rip on me for having a Jeep And I say who cares what you have let's just go out and have fun. Anyways love the video I'm from southern Ohio so we would wheel down there all the time.

The dumping gets to me too. I relocated from WA St a few years back to AR and when I lived in WA the dumping had got to the point that all the major timber companies had either gated or tank trenched their roads and eventually made them pay for play only. As an avid steelhead and salmon fisherman it was sad to see fishing hole access cut off to the rivers and streams that my family fished for generations. The pay for play access became too expensive for the average working guy so I was stuck doing the combat fishing at public access points. Carry it out, keep it clean and you'll have access forever, leave a mess and its only a matter of time before the gates and tank trenches become the norm.

I agree totally about the trash. The off road community usually gets blamed for this type of behavior. However most of the off roaders I’ve been with not only clean up their own trash but also clean up the areas we visit. Same for boating communities, and camping areas we’ve visited.

Matt, it’s nuts that between Arkansas and Indiana Kentucky is that state for many of us to find a place in the Midwest-ish to actually off road and overland without going 1200 miles west.

Great video! You can really tell how much IFS on the defender is not meant for challenging trails. When it’s on three wheels a lot of times. Just like the bronco. I think that’s why Brad on trail recon didn’t think his was as capable as a Jeep.

Hey Matt, I've been eyeing the same Oracle tail lights that you are running. I see that Caras driver side tail light was having issues.
