Fans asked for rotation. No one had an issue with the system until last couple of games. Fans wanted experienced players. Combine all these and you get why Gusto has been used that way, and why Disasi started last game. Not too hard if we're being honest. Fans just want something to pin the blame on. Maresca doesn't trust Viega there. every game Cucurella missed, gusto or reece has played there which is not a good sign. I think he's just trying to please most of the squad and he knows Nkunku and Disasi are senior players, compared to Guiu and Acheampong who are young players and they obviously don't have as much pull or power as the previous two. Is that the right way to go? Hell no. He needs to do what's best for the team, but I also understand that historically, player power at Chelsea has led to the early demise of many top managers, so he's tryna navigate the fine line. If you think, well he easily expelled Ben Chilwell and Carney, I think it's more of a board thing. Yes Chilly ain't his cup of tea, and that helps the board with tryna get rid of high earners... Maresca should get back to doing what works. Cole Palmer should operate in the right pocket and Enzo left. If he wants to play Gusto, then don't invert him. Just allow him support the RW by being an option. Keep it simple. If he wants to sub Jackson, either he brings Guiu for his energy and striker instincts or if he insists on Nkunku, then we must slightly tweak the way we find Nkunku. Keep the ball on the floor, cut back from wings rather than cross in. Personally, even though Acheampong will make mistakes, I'm more than happy to give him Disasi's minutes so he can acclimatize to the league now, before we fight for major honours next season. Maresca, stop being reactive, be proactive!!! Keep it simple!!!

He will make mistakes and he also needs to be afforded some time to learn as he grows. Call it birth pains, teething problems, growing pains, whatever. The sooner he gets back to keeping it simple and giving players game time based on meritocracy, the better the results will be.
