Medicare itself is a non-profit healthcare insurance system. But the Republicans have added on parts to Medicare that are for-profit. Those parts are Medicare advantage and Medicare part d, the drug plan. It's not really a Republican versus Democratic issue. It's a lack of campaign finance regulation. Most democracies do not allow foreign money to be given to politicians, but since the Republican engineered citizens United decision, United States not only has foreign money, it has money where it is absolutely impossible to trace the source of that income. So there's really only one political party in the United states. The Money Party.

Anyway, just thought I would bring to light MY experience & research to hopefully help others that MAY read this, or again IF you might bring this topic up to help others that do not know. ALL one needs to do is look up their local dental schools, either full blown dental or community colleges. They have a full staff of students that do x-rays, preventative, & cleanings for FREE! There are dentists that go around to each student & patient making sure everything is done correctly. Also, not only that but again the FULL blown dental schools (many) will do fillings, extractions, etc. as well as, there are many VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE offices that will provide FULL dental for many (depending on income, and are in between medicaid & Medicare) Not enough income, yet not enough to apply for medicaid. PLEASE pass it on!

I had United Healthcare's Advantage Plan (I just switched to a supplement plan G though) and I had a molar break at the gumline then become abscessed at the root. Terrible pain. Anyway, my dental yearly maximum that my Advantage Plan would pay out was $799.00!! To me, that's a ridiculously low amount and an odd amount, too. Why $799? Why not just round it to $800? Weird. Well, I saw a dentist and they took x-rays then gave me a prescription for a 14 day supply of antibiotics. That's ALL that was done at that visit. I still ended up paying a little over $100 myself after the $799 covered by my insurance. So my point is that even if your Advantage Plan does offer dental coverage, be prepared to pay more out of your own pocket or get a private dental plan to add to your Advantage Plan.
@alansach843710 ай бұрын
The problem with most dental plans is that they only cover a limited amount of work each year. Say $1,000.00 or $1,500.00, and the premiums are half that, so your real savings are only $500.00 or $750.00, and most years you won't use it for more than a cleaning or two, so you end up paying 500.00 or 750.00 for 150.00-200.00 worth of service! You are almost better off to pay cash for your cleanings and have a dental savings account to cover when you need a crown or something like that. If you need major, major work, these plans will only cover a small portion of it anyway!
