@max marrero but doesn't the other way (baptist way) to look at the bible makes God to look not All powerful and weak and not in control...
@halinkap52173 жыл бұрын
@max marrero What you call "calvinism" is actually the truth of the bible. Read thoroughly Romans! It gives you freedom from worry about life and fear of being not good enough to be saved. God has all this world in his hands. He is in control of EVERYTHING. And our salvation doesn't depend on our works, but on JESUS. Now we can go on to do good works and keep commandments because they are good for us, for our families, our communities, because they are some of ways we can love God back.

There is a difference between wine and chemotherapy. Thank you very much. Wine is one alcoholic drink which specific effects. Chemo consists of multiple crafted drugs chosen according to the type of cancer.

I love and respect Pastor John beyond description, but I disagree with this analysis on prayer for the sick. Prayer over serious illness does not, in any way, challenge God's sovereignty. Rather, prayer appeals to God's sovereign will for healing according to His grace and purpose. However, appealing to man and man's science is an altogether different consideration. Psalm 118:8.

I find it interesting that the question is even asked. I think it stems from the popularity of teaching on suffering as a means of santification. I often hear Christians qualify their prayers to allow room for God's will in their suffering. I am not aware of many parts of scripture giving guidance on this and here is why.. I think the bible is written with the general understanding that suffering is bad. There are several sections that point out God using it for ultimate good obviously. When you focus on those few parts you end up with mindsets like the one presented in this Q&A. Does God use evil for good? Yes. Is that the norm? It doesn't seem to be from the perspective of the writers. That is why it is a big deal when Jesus for example talks about it. Faith doesn't generally require a denial of logic or common sense. It actually never does as far as I know. Faith does ask though that sometimes we look at the big picture and not the immediate good. That is not a rejection of rational thought though. It follows. A good rule of thumb in my opinion is to follow Paul's example. Unless you pray constantly and God directly tells you it's not His will, you can assume God intends to heal. The reason is... because He is God, and He is good. And usually good means good.

That sounds good, but let's not trivialize pain when it affects your quality of life I have suffered from mental and also physical pain that prevents me from holding a regular job, I depend on disability payments that I thank God for to provide my basic needs. I'm not trying to skip out on work, even fairly recently, I had part-time work, but it wasn't enough to cover my life expenses I do know of some that get disability that don't need it, and refuse to work even though they are able-bodied and I think that is sinful, but social security can be beneficial for those who either can't work because of mental or physical limitations I know people who are opposed to receiving benefits and think they are lazy and unwilling to work, but it's not true in all cases

I dis agree that Adam and Eve would build a home to protect them from sun or rain since they lived in a perfect environment and didn't need to create a beam of light to kill cancer since that was unknown To me, subduing the creation was meant to bring fruition to it, which I do agree, myself I'm under the care of doctors for a chronic disease that gets progressive worse, and I thank God for doctors and medicine Of course I pray, but God choses to use methods that entail healing of disease along with prayer

Personally I'd rather die than go to the doctor's for healing.I just simply do not trust them. I only trust God when it comes to my health. He has healed me too many times for me personally to even think about going to a doctor. Jesus is the best physician ever.🙌🙌

All of the conclusions presented are always primitive and incorrect. Suffering is not desired by God, however, it is understood that it comes with free will. Choice is not choice if you only have the option to be good. Believing that God actually wants suffering is a gross misunderstanding of the universe. It would be better for you to be a mute than to speak these primitive things about something you know nothing about.
