I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS PODCAST... IT'S THAT I HAVEN'T REVIEWED IT SOONER. BECAUSE IF I HAD THEN YOU WOULD KNOW HOW GOOD THESE TWO ARE AT MAKING A PODCAST THAT'S BAD! … AND WHEN I SAY, "BAD”, I MEAN, MICHAEL JACKSON BAD… YOU KNOW HOW HE LOOKED REALLY, REALLY BAD AT THE END OF HIS LIFE? LET'S PUT IT THIS WAY. THESE TWO NEED TO PACK THEIR BAGS AND GET OUT OF THE PODCAST BIZ… BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE WORKING ON THE FINEST TALK SHOW IN THE WORLD … JUST NOT ANY WORLD THAT I LIVE IN! BECAUSE, FRANKLY JAMES AND FLAV, I'M JEALOUS OF YOU… AND YOUR ABILITY TO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU TALK ABOUT! THIS IS NOT FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION… NO, THIS SHOULD BE CONSUMED BY A HIGHER LIFE-FORM WITH A MUCH LOWER COGNITIVE DISSONANCE! JOKING. NOT! YOU DESERVE TO DIE! SO YOU WON'T HAVE TO ENDURE A LIFE IN WHICH YOU WILL NEVER EXCEED WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED WITH THIS PODCAST. ALL IN ALL, GREAT LISTENING, WOULD RECOMMEND

Delighted to provide an update on Peter Beardsley, my wife cared for a member of his family and to his credit frequently visited them so the staff got to know him a little. As they got better and left the ward Peter said that he had something for the staff - ex footballer they were looking forward to something luxurious after weeks of care, the next day during the discharge Peter came in with around 20 identical pre signed photos of himself from his playing days to give to all the staff bearing the message 'all the best'. Still got it up in the garage, what a player.

Speaking of funeral songs. My dad passed away 14 years ago now and he had a cd of the song he wanted as his funeral song (he had cancer and knew he hadn’t long left). Being that he was being cremated I knew he may have something up his sleeve. Fast forward to the funeral. Beautiful ceremony. Then came the moment when the curtains closed and the coffin being taken to the incinerator. His song began. The trumpets started and before long all we could hear was Johnny Cash’s voice being bellowed around the church. That is of course. Ring of fire. Still makes me chuckle now. Cheers guys ❤

Current profit sustainability rules are anti competition though Flav, they literally make it harder for smaller clubs to compete financially or break into the top 6. It's not about "let us spend all our oil money", we just want fair rules that aren't clearly protecting the "big 6". Clubs should be able to spend a little money without having to sell their most valuable players to avoid a points deduction, makes it increasingly difficult to actually build a good side.

On Flav’s point about FFP & Newcastle, i can understand that the rules were put in place to prevent teams ‘buying the league’. I think the frustration comes from the ‘sell to buy’ rules & how teams at the top with higher revenue streams are able to spend more, teams that built up their revenue in a era with no FFP. I think at the very least, Newcastle (and every team in the league) should be able to spend just as much as the highest earner in the league, that’s the fairest resolution I can think of.

Newcastle fan, I agree we shouldn’t allowed to just spend what we want and be a new city or Chelsea, that is wrong. But I’m sorry there should be parity and we should be able to spend as much as any other club, maybe out a cap in place. It is bonkers how horrifically run Chelsea have been the past 3 years however they have been allowed to just keep spending to bail them out and despite how much better run Brentford and Brighton are they’ll always be above them

Why on earth wld United pay Rashfords wages at another English club? That would never happen. They gave Chelsea the bargain of the century with Sancho, but they did it to get his wages off the books completely. The biggest reason to sell Rashford is to get his wages off the books - subsidised loan just ain’t happening.
@joshuajones61394 күн бұрын
Id like to openly request more conflict and confrontation between the two of you. The "Spurs winning the Carabao cup" debate was brilliant. And it's enlightening seeing how differently different sets of supporters view achievements through a different lense. James is absolutely right, a trophy is a trophy, you've won it, full stop, enjoy it, bask in the glory. But what James will fail to understand is the stick and criticism laid at the feet of the supporters of the bigger clubs. Modern football culture means you're not allowed to celebrate anything according to rival fans. Certain pieces of silverware are undermined as "Mickey Mouse cups". Liverpool's COVID title, apparently doesn't count. Man City's dominance, tainted by their legal troubles. I've heard people undermine the Leicester title, because "all the other clubs were below par that year". Now some of these criticisms are more valid than others, but ultimately whatever the reasoning might be, rival fans will always look for the "asterisk". So I can appreciate Flav's point. As a Big 6 supporter, you want to leave as little room for doubt of your brilliance as possible. But I guess that's the nature of supporting a club and rallying against others clubs. If we could all take biases out of our opinion and recognise footballing achievements for what they are, then we'd all get along much better, but it's just not the reality.
