Does Removing Sound Generator Do Anything for Hyundai Kona N? 2 Minute Guide (i30N / Elantra N)

I removed mine on my Veloster N. I called it a noise turd. The difference was an improvement in my view. On the Veloster N forum this is an encouraged and common simple mod.

Yes exactly, the engine sound comes forward and it makes the sound and feeling smoother not so raw animal as before. Better or worse? That depends on your taste. I like it a little better.

There's a noticeable difference on the i20n, the cabin is quieter, the engine can be heard clearer and so can the Bose radio. I much prefer it this way.

Yep should be. Just shine a torch through the cowl and you can see it

I didn’t notice it to much when I unplugged mine. How ever if you go for a drive and then come back and plug it in again you will immediately notice the huge difference. Normal mode it activates after 4000rpm and constant active in N mode

It adds turbo intake noise, adds fake "suction" sounds when on throttle. Unplugged you don't get those sounds, install a aftermarket intake and you'll have them for real. 😂

Nope. It cannot. There’s no settings for it. An Hyundai will never make a setting for it. They don’t even advertise or mention that the cars even have this included. 2 second job to unplug it anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

On my i30N it didnt change much tbh. Maybe a tad quieter inside, but not much.

Just unplug the connector on the valve

@@ricergarage3092 when the car is off the valve is always open. You can check by shining your torch in there. And nah no lights or anything.
