Thanks for sharing another lovely build. That's perfection all through, and that's a HUGE hao!!!!! Hopefully, will see the finished product. Such videos are helpful to people planning to build their dream homes, especially whilst abroad. Also, don't hesitate to give us a load down on the rude shocks that crop up in terms of ufisadi during the building process. Who would have known the impact of water from the roof? Thanks again as always!

Culturally, there is a difference, American families can live as a unit, whereas Kisumu area people would want the children to have their own houses. The people who may visit don't have to go sleep somewhere else.
@WuonOdidi3 ай бұрын
Possibly!! though many Americans expect kids to move out sooner!

You are so right about the house being bigger when they start doing the foundation digging! I thought my house would fit on one plot but after leaving room for trees on the side for privacy the house is sitting on almost two plots now! I still like my house but I might have placed it differently if I had known 🤔

Size matters more for statement…. However, I believe that a luxury home has to be functional with all the creature comforts that you are accustomed to in the diaspora. We can help you achieve functionality with automation, Luxury home cinema, smart lighting, piped music, man caves, golf simulators etc.

Surely from the drone pics, such a house on a small potion of land is a no. I know land is an issue in some parts of Nyanza especially huko Siaya kwetu but such a house should sit on 5 acres plus. I hope the nearby land will be incorporated into the property.

My goodness. The house is beautiful. Just how do you maintain such a huge unit from furnishings to cleaning to annual maintenance. In any case, I love the energy. Can you advise how l can buy land on your side of kisumu village and roughly what the cost would be?
@WuonOdidi3 ай бұрын
Maintenance and furnishing is definitely quite some work! I have folks who do land deals in my village: I can send them once I know your budget or simply link you with them: Generally you want to plan with 900k and above: email me at: e_achola2000@yahoo.com if interested

why do you keep calling it a hacienda? its a reference to the Spanish colonial era houses with a plantation. No one uses that super weird. Why not refer to the architectural design. Mc-mansion for more modern use. I love the analysis. Very very on point. Please do more like this.
@otienojoyce52693 ай бұрын
It is a slung used by luos to refer to a mansion-like house...acienda😅
@WuonOdidi3 ай бұрын
It is a local slang :)
@lakeinrocks3 ай бұрын
This is definitely a McMansion. Called it the same when I watched this. It's humongous in a small lot. I know what Kenyans call hacienda and they are all so far from what a hacienda is. A hacienda is like it's own city. Main house, workers houses, plantations, some have chapels, schools even a health center for the workers. I smile every time I hear hacienda in Kenya😂
@ShastaLevi2 ай бұрын
Just because you haven't heard it being used doesn't mean it's not. We all know what a hacienda is only that in luo nyanza it's a slang used to refer to grand houses.
@ShastaLevi2 ай бұрын
@@lakeinrocksYou are aware lot size vs the size of the house alone doesn't make a house a Mcmansion. A house can be appropriately sized to the lot size but still be a Mcmansion because of the architectural style used.
