The nice thing about using soap as bait is that you don't have to clean the fish after you've caught it.

The biggest catfish I ever caught (size of my leg) was on soap that was designed for fishing. Can't remember the name, however it was your normal white color soap. This soap was purchased in a fishing store. Sorry but that was over forty five years ago. I was surprised to see a video on soap.

The way I do it is. I grate the soap with a cheese grater. Melt it down in a pot and add anise oil or any other flavor. Pour it out in a cookie sheet let it cool then cut into small cubes. Also it works better on trotlines because it's in the water for a longer period of time.

@ChrisG99786 ай бұрын
Makes sense that soap picks up cats...most soaps are made from oils, fats, and lye. Catfish are allegedly attracted to the scent of lye, which makes soap a viable catfish bait. There are soaps made specifically for catfish fishing since they're known to work. If you want to try another odd bait that works well for cats...cut up chunks of Velveeta cheese and throw them in that pond. It has to be a solid loaf of Velveeta...it has just the right consistency and is buoyant. Use a Carolina rig, 1-1.5 oz sinker, a sizable catfish circle hook, and load it with Velveeta...you'll catch 'em quickly on that set up.

Jesus loves everyone no matter who they are, in fact he loves everyone so much that he came to Earth and lived a blameless/sinless life and then died the death we deserved on the cross, when he was on that cross he was thinking about me, you, and everyone’s sins and he took the punishment for them, suffering on the cross for hours. Through his sacrifice on the cross, our sins are forgiven and we are redeemed, and if you put your trust in him, you will be saved, you will go to heaven, and Jesus will fill you with his peace.
