Would be better with a float on the line for bite detection, and a smaller hook. They are small fish you are catching, not sharks. Red worms or maggots would catch them easily. We fish differently in the UK.

I have some GREAT pike swim bait lures. They absolutely love them. They're the Storm wildeye live perch lure. They come in bags of 4 or 5 and they have the tail that spins. That and a steel leader works great! Hold the pike down by it's eyes to avoid those teeth

Try not gobbing your worm up on the hook so much. (No Diddy lol) ... But seriously...nose hook it or hook in the middle (wacky style) so its a more natural presentatiin and can wiggle and move . Secomd suggestion, drop shotnit so its suspended just above the bottom. Might get more hits that way

That was nice!! The first thing I said was there has to be some bigguns in that spillway flow! 💥💥🤙🤙😍

I used to fish those canals when I lived down there. I'll let you in on a little secret, I was a foreman for pulte homes and my brother was one for KB and while we were building anthem, tons of large mouth bass, channel/blue/flathead cats, and of course a couple different bait fish species. The key is knowing what lakes hold which. The upper lake/ponds by the train station have some of the biggest bass I've seen. The very lower pond is where the catfish live and is the deepest. I used to go to a little fishing store and would buy waterdogs and let me tell you, the biggest bass and catfish I've ever caught have been on waterdogs in pleasant and horseshoe lakes. Also, on the salt river, where everyone floats, the bass are used to being fed marshmallows and all you have to do is just let it float. Lots of good fishing in AZ, almost better than here, almost.

Had something similar happen last weekend. Trout magnet under a bobber on 2 lb. fishing for bluegill. Bobber went down, reeled down & pulled...what was on the other end started taking line. 😳 Not what I was expecting. Took a few minutes of coaxing & pulled in about a 3 lb. carp. Good times. 👍

It’s obvious your some sort of relocated person ( Demorcrat ) ?? You never ever wear sandals in the desert. And snakes bite dogs too. You also need to worry about coyotes and not the 4 legged ones either. ( WBs , illegals , immigrants ) You need to keep aware of your surroundings when your off in the desert. Rember water for you and the dog. If your able to own a firearm you need to acquire one . Then gets some sort of training with it. If your going to depend on the Police , Sheriff etc to come to your rescue you maybe in for a rude awakening. I’m a Zonie been here my whole life ( 60 yrs + ) Good luck , Be safe
@TheFishinMagician2021 сағат бұрын
lol 😂 Airforce veteran, used firearms my whole life and that was my job in the military. The dog is always taken care of. I wear sandals here because I can see everywhere I’m walking. If it were heavy brush or rock I probably wouldn’t even be walking in it, let alone with boots or shoes.

hey, just thought i would HT you this interesting info.. ( that MIGHT apply to you in arazona.... up here in minnesota when river fishing.. ( the minnesota, the mississippi, and the St. Croix River) the DNR asks people to NOT throw carp back in water.. they want us to bring home and burry or throw out carps.. all the hundreds of carps i have landed i would walk about 50 feet then throw fish into the woods for the racoons.. maybe check your dnr to see if they have an invasive species catch and dispatch
@TheFishinMagician2021 сағат бұрын
They do not have one here. The carp are actually stocked here to maintain the canals.
