Does Stage 1 REDUCE Gas Mileage on Harley Street Bob 114!?? After installing a Stage 1 on my Harley Davidson Street Bob, I will go over the impacts I have noticed on gas mileage. Does this increase or reduce gas mileage, let me know your thoughts down in the comments!

Definitely a big consideration with a smaller gas tank, especially if you do a lot of city driving. Slip-ons would probably be the way to go to extend the range on a bike with a smaller tank. That's the route I took when I had my Bob. When I got the 2-into-ones for my 23 Lowrider S the dealer did the tune with Screaming Eagle tuner and auto tune. This setup retains the warranty. I actually was surprised at how little this setup affected gas mileage although not as much of a concern with a 5 gallon tank. Also I still have the stock air intake which is high air flow anyway.

Yeah definitely less concern with a bigger tank is a good point

those gloves are rad- remind me of kierin bicycle gloves from Japan. I like your channel and authenticity, fun to watch your content and I don't even have a street bob anymore! Keep the sunny side up!

They are the biltwell bantam gloves. But I don't think they make them anymore

I went stage 1 with a power vision tune. My gas mileage went from almost 200 miles on the tank down to 180 on the tank. 2023 street Bob.

@@TheMotoJawn I do have a modified clutch basket that allows my bike to run at lower rpm’s. I also live very rural so I mostly ride at 55mph for 30 miles before I reach a city.

Did a cam exhaust and custom tune on my 21 fxbbs. My gas mileage is terrible but its mostly because i like the sound it makes lol. Rolling down the highway at 75-85mph for a whole tank of fuel, I dont notice much difference over stock. Gas mileage is most effected by your right hand. BRAAAAP BRAP

I’m definitely getting more mileage now I’ve had the bike a while. I was really enjoying the additional power after stepping up from my Iron 1200. Nowadays I’m getting about 160 from a tank. That’s with a tune, S&S 2 into 1 and filter.

My stage 1 pre-tune significantly reduced mileage for sure: two-to-two bassani radial sweepers with arlen ness 90° velocity intake (I mean one hard stint of acceleration and it seemed like I'd lose a tick on my fuel gauge, looking for fuel at 115mi). The power vision tune balanced it back up, still getting slightly less than stock but not by much. Still looking for fuel around 130 mi vs 150 with stock but not terrible. Love all your videos, got me to get a street bob. Are you getting any mid-frame updrafts into your helmet with that front fairing? Im getting it bad thru my legs and into my helmet on the freeways. Not sure what to do about it.

Whenever you mess with engine performance, gas mileage is most likely not getting better. That said, all the performance work I've done all all my bikes was for performance right? If you are worried about fuel mileage, don't mess with the bike after it leaves the dealer. This topic is a no brainer....up grades=less fuel mileage. 😊

As a very experienced Street Bike Rider..The 2 things that affect gas mileage?....Is...a untuned Bike and how hard you crank that throttle....To me i dont care...I ride hard...Thats why i ride for the rush of adrenline....

I put torque cams in my Dyna and I've noticed a significant decrease in MPG. I tour a lot on my bike so the loss of range wasn't really worth it. When I swap out my cam plate I'll be putting the stock cams back in.

Yeah that extra gas8leage is helpful on the longer trips

Your fuel milage should have increased with the new exhaust. The bike lost 20 pounds by removing the OEM stuff. I notice mine felt lighter when I change the exhaust out.

Factory tune is pretty lean to meet EPA regs. If you do a tune, you're probably going to add more fuel with the air cleaner volume change. Also a good tune might add more fuel to bring down engine heat.

Yeah that seems to track with what I've seen and was expecting

@@TheMotoJawn Sportster Evo is even worse on stock tune 🤣 it's buttoned up with lots of back pressure in the exhaust. Probably pretty good mpg from factory but motor not designed with those regs

Anybody who can afford a new Harley Davidson doesn't care about gas mileage. Especially after hotroding a motor. Don't forget the engines are 2X the size of the older ones. My uncle's knuckle head was 61cu. It weighed 500 lbs fully fueled up. Now the motorcycle engine is huge and bike's weight is 300 lbs more as well. My 800 lbs sidecar gets 30 mpg. Course it doesn't go fast.😂😂😂😂

I test rode a Street Bob 114 today. Would you say this Street Bob is faster than the Fat Bob 114? Is it the most nimble of Harley’s?

Sportster S, Nightster, low rider S, I'd say are all more nimble Harley's then the street bob. I did test ride a street bob and loved it, coming from a Sportster.

They're the same engine so just about the same speed. Fat bob would be just slightly heavier so that might have some impact
