I managed 5 L / 100 KM consumption rate before when I ride smoothly. As in keeping the RPM below 3500 in any gear and light traffic Last Sunday my gang with sportsbikes went for a ride and I kept up. Rev'ed up to 4000 RPM to pass traffics and in corners. After 1 hour, the fuel gauge dropped by about 3 bars 😱😱😱 Refueled at the end of that day and total mileage was 100 km for 8-9 Liters
@onlyhereonce72906 жыл бұрын
Another good video. My 1997 Flstf Fatboy runs about 100 miles for a half tank of fuel. Which is 2 US gallons. Full capacity is 4 US gallons. Or 50 miles per gallon. I have a 111 ci engine from S&S in my bike. I used to pull 55 mpg on my 80 cubic inch Evo engine. I upgraded the primary sprocket 1 tooth for lower highway RPMs which helped quite a bit... My tank is a 15.4 litres capacity. Or 160 kilometers to 7.7 litres for a half tank. 3.85 litres per 80 kilometers. Average. Keep the cool videos coming.

You know what's funny? I took mine out to a trip last weekend and i also lost the same screw of the seat. Fortunately I was with a Harley dealership organized trip - a service van was there to me. Also tested out the fuel consumption on my stage 1 out of town with some traffic. I ran 111 km and refueled with 5.51 L. I talked to my mechanic and they were amazed how good the rate is compared to other people. I'd probably not going to upgrade beyond this as I like the mileage. The power is more than enough for me. I do 200 km mini touring on occasion weekend getaways, 1 refuel mid way at 170 km is about right. Anyway, thanks for your stage 2 consumption test for us.

@StreetBobberVlogger6 жыл бұрын
andrej scu so the tank reading shows 180ish miles when full on a stock bike...I know they will do close to 200 when risen sensibility and on a highway. Realistically I used to get about 180-150 depending on how hard I was in the throttle👌
@0321ReconMan4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, this is one of the reasons I am leaning towards the power cam. I think it would get better fuel efficiency because the cam does not come on until the later RPMs. As such, if there was a trip i wanted to go on and get good fuel mileage I could just ride it at a lower RPM range. With the Torque cam it comes on very early in the revs so I think it would be hard to get good mileage with this. But who are we kidding, this is the least of our problems when doing mods to a bike for performance hahaha! Thanks for the video!

I really think that the Screaming Eagle cam is second rate in torque, horsepower, and fuel economy to the S&S, Red Shift...basically you name it. I think it has to do with the EPA leaning on Harley....Not sure, but there is so much more available potential on tap from the aftermarket. Unfortunately if you want to maintain that warranty SE is the only way to go. Great video StreetBobberVlogger!
@Crowbar3812 жыл бұрын
Perhaps the SE cams could be seen as sitting somewhere in between a stock cam and the ones you mentioned, which are in a way leaning more towards being performance cams? The issue with a more aggressive, lumpier cam like the S&S 475, is that the bike will be so loud! he’d have to wear earplugs the whole time (or suffer ongoing and permanent hearing damage). Also if owning a Harley is not just about performance but also a nice sound, cams like that can limit the huge amount of choices with exhausts and slip ons. Once people change to a cam like that, many setups go from sounding nice and deep and throaty, to too loud, raspy and almost metallic sounding. For example, you see a lot of people on KZbin who might have Rinehart slip ons, or Vance and Hines slip ons, having to find alternatives once they install the 475 cam

How many miles would you get if you ride it on a slow curvy roads , where the speed limit is like 30 to 50 mph, and you follow the trafic with occasionaly overtakes max 70mph , in the 1600 to 2100 rpm range ? Could you get 150 miles on one tank with stage 2 torque cam?

lowrider tank or fat bob tank swap is your best bet👌
@alancrane46936 жыл бұрын
Time to get a bigger fuel tank maybe. Or have a tune remap. Install a baffle/muffler in the exhaust get a remap the bike will idle less lot more lower end torc and gain around 20 miles maybe more, down side it won't be as snappy but should be lot more stable at town riding as well. I think you have a 6 mark mapping getting them to knock it down for around 3 or 4 with muffler ok it be deeper tone but still have a reasonable loudness. Pros and cons but want better fuel efficiency and handling around town or just ripping around. Diag 4 tuning dongle what i use highly recommended. Give you an idea my 96 twin cam with 21 litre tank on map 6 reduce from 200 miles to 130 miles my bike flew very twitchy flames out of exhaust and 0 to 100 around 4 1/2 seconds. So done the above and bike becomes not as nutty but you can always take baffles out and remap for those extra nutter days. Oh don't get the wrong idea bike still crazy on sensible mode compared to your standard stage one. Forget to say sensible mode fuel range is around 170/180 miles.

I bet your outacontrol fuel consumption is more than anything directly proportional to you having too much fun wackin the throttle since you put that new cam in. Suggestion for next upgrade: bigger softail tank. I can get you the parts list, I've been thinking about it but not quite ready to bite that bullet 😉

@@StreetBobberVlogger I would love to see you slap a large softail tank on there 😉 BTW they re all the same except for the console/gauges/trim. (Low rider has slightly different bracket welded to the top though) Break out on the other hand is the same tank as street bob. Or are you talking pre-18?

Ahh crap you are right, Break Out is the same! I was just thinking because it has the same digi speedo lol! I do like the lowrider tank though although the Fat bob would be ok too. I know the tanks unpainted are £750, them it would need spraying and also fitting with the new analog displays...wouldnt be too hard but not the sort of thing i could do. HD quoted me £1500 for the whole parts and labour job!

They’ve clearly stuffed up big time with your tune and your bike probably stinks when it’s idling. To fit in with all the rules and regulations Harley adhere to, the SE447 is actually very fuel efficient, it has to be. My friends street bob gets 170 miles per tank and my low rider S with the bigger 18.9lt tank gets 245 miles and we don’t just cruise. We both have that exact same cam that you have. Even a fuel hungry cam like the S&S 475 gets 145 miles a tank for another street bob owner I know and his has so much torque and horsepower that he leaves us behind.
