I think I could work with that interior pretty easily. I don't share what seems to be a younger generation's revulsion at tan interiors, but I think I'd probably black out a few panels like under the dash, do black carpet, (And lose the carpet in the door cards in favor of I-dunno-what fabric, maybe suedey stuff or alcantara, possibly cover the fake aluminum on the dash with woodgrain fakery, basically kinda double down on the retro. :) The pale-and-stainless look was kinda trendy at the time. but eminently negotiable especially if you can find pieces from a black interior and have some of that plastic lawn furniture paint Valspar makes. It lasts forever. :)

It saddens me to see the hate the 3 valve receives. Especially the 2010 Mustang GT because it truly is the unloved child. I've had my 3 valve mustang for about 3 years now and I love it so very much. It's the first mustang I've ever been in, it's the only one I've ever driven, so yes, of course I am biased because I have nothing to compare it to unless we start discussing the other vehicles I have driven. But I love this car very much, my 2005 Mustang GT that ALSO has the Shaker 500, but the Shaker 1000 was the better option with the sub woofer in the trunk. Honestly, I really do wish it had a little more power, but that's because I've grown into this car and it took time to understand it's capabilities in it's factory form, especially because it was, and still is, the only car that I drove with a stick with the exception of my dad's car. I learned how to drive manual in that car in the span of maybe 4 20 minute lessons at best. More like 15, but it's whatever. In my opinion, there isn't a comparison to be made in terms of sound quality when comparing the 3 valve to the coyote. The 3 valve has a better sound to it especially at higher RPMs where as the coyote sounds more like a hoard of angry bees. After 3 years, I am finally ready to upgrade / mod the car and Everyone keeps telling me that I should "just get a better mustang with a coyote engine in it" or to swap one in and it's just not what I'm up for. I already have the black plastic, the red leather seats, Everything I could possibly want except the sub woofer and the back up camera. I've got a 6 CD selector and mids + speakers in the doors though so the sound quality if phenomenal. So to anyone looking to buy one of these as their first mustang, you'll either love it, or hate it. And do keep in mind what tires you are running. The cheapest wheels you can buy should be your last resort as you will absolutely spin the car.

I had an 06 GT, it was my first V8…today I have a 2014 GT that I’ve done extensive work on, it’s pushing well over 500hp at the wheels, but despite all of that…I honestly had way more fun with the 06 even though it was significantly slower. The design and feel of that car just speaks to me that later S197s, S550s and S650s just don’t. The 5.0 Coyote is a beast, but I had just as much fun as anyone could have with the 4.6

In my opinion it’s one of the best Mustangs ever made. It started the retro revolution that gave us the new Camaros and Challengers. The interior is absolutely beautiful when compared to all other cars built between 05 and 09 (was a seriously bad time for car interiors!) I believe this car saved the Mustang. I remember when it came out and people were longing for a good looking car with power, something like a 67 Mustang only modern. They hit the nail on the head for that time. Yeah the newer ones are better. But man I’ll never forget when that 05 hit the lot. And that 3 valve may be a dog but the sounds it makes are beautiful. It doesn’t howl like a Coyote, it growls like an overweight Malemute. I eventually got an 07 and later a 2011. The 05-09 with always be that car that as a young man I had to have. Very special car indeed.

When the S197 first came out, that was when the mustang officially became the car I wanted. In fact I prefer the more true retro styling the car represented compared to the newer S197. I really like this video. I grew up in the 90s and learned how to drive stick in my dad's 85GT, my first car was a 90LX 5.0. Watching the evolution of the mustang from the fox -> s197 I remember my friends and I having very similar discussions when the 4.6 came out in 96, basically the sohc 2v was a great first engine, but it was very challenging to get anything out of it vs the 4v Cobra engines. I still have my 94 Cobra, which was my dream car as it was the first mustang that could handle (relative to the time) as the 94 was the first year of all disc brakes, and the cobra had the 13" brakes, as well as my daily 2020GT performance pack. The handling of the s550 is so night and day different that it was the first new Mustang that I knew I needed to buy one of. Thank you for the great video.

I’m located in Atlanta and the roads just aren’t built for a lowered mustang with an On3 setup. I don’t even run an aggressive lowered suspension either. It’s pretty tamed. I was running 8lbs of boost making about 450hp. Shorty Headers, BBK Throttle body and Holley Sniper Intake. It was fun but I knew I hated the scraping, and I hated how much it changed my exhaust notes. Plus I knew I wanted a safe 510-525hp. The On3 Kit looks good but has Frankenstein fitment too. Sold it got my Paxton, a set of pypes LT headers, & Ford HotRod Cams. Slapped everything on over 5 days. Dyno’d 511 easy on the first with spark plug issues because the car had been sitting 6 months before starting the build. I love it so much better now. I put Detroit Rocker cams, CAI, CMP deletes (don't do this), stainless long tubes, OR H-pipe with dumps in front of the axle, short throw with the aluminum DS and 4.30 gears. The only thing that sucked, was operating the clutch in stop and go city traffic. I changed the speakers in mine to Infinity Reference, and added an Infinity Basslink subwoofer to the trunk, all of which were a big improvement over the stock Shaker 500 stereo. Those cars were cheap, comfortable fun, and while I bought mine 2nd hand with low km's on it, it only cost me $27,900 CAD...unlike now where it is possible to spend closer to double that amount.
