It's like a cycle, and you see it in movies too when things get too big over time. Stories going from city breaking stakes, to world ending stakes, to universe ending stakes, to multiverse ending stakes, and then you have nowhere left to go but small and personal again because you're so out of touch with what people can relate to and get invested in. I used to wish my favorite bigger channels could find a way back to their roots and just go back to being real again, but that's not how things work. Often times new blood is meant to come in and give things a new spin and reinjuvinate a format. I think I've finally accepted that.

If I'm not mistaken it was this glitch where you're perched near a billboard or a ledge and just spam freeze grenades and you'd just slowly go up, do it enough times and you'd enter gotham lol good times

Makes me think if they were thinking about doing something there like a possible dlc, I remember glitching out the map on Red dead redemption 2 to Mexico and it had a couple small villages and the ground had collision also on Spider-Man 2 you can glitch to Jersey and it’s pretty well detailed too. I just figure the devs were possibly thinking about using those areas

Man, I was getting worried each time it wouldn't work but then when you finally grappled onto that bridge and realised you could move and had done it I was so happy! It's insane how much detail Rocksteady put into these out of bounds areas that you would never be able to reach without glitches, and you could see the buildings such as the Museum from Arkham City and Wonder Tower despite them being low-res.

Origins is very much slept on just because it wasn’t done directly by rocksteady. It took the city combat and made it better. Asylum is also still amazing, I just wish we had more modern controls and mechanics with it and that game is basically a horror game.

The buldings are rendered though or you wouldn't see them 😉 The key here is collision detection, which is what allows game characters to interact with objects and surfaces. These distant buildings likely don’t have collision properties, meaning the game’s physics don’t apply to them. This is a common technique in game design to optimize performance and resources. Fun fact: To save resources, the Knight port on Switch only renders the front faces of the tallest buildings. The ground texture is just a blob - surprised I was even able to get out of bounds.

@@ACarsonEffect I can understand it not being in the base game, but it would have been great DLC. Even if there wasn't much to do in those areas other than beating up random thugs, it would still be cool having access to them and getting to wander around. On that note, it kinda floors me that they never implemented a "free roam" mode that lets you play as any character in the open world. I can understand not being able to go into buildings and stuff but just being able to wander around as challenge mode characters would be incredible. You can accomplish this with mods but it's not ideal because Rocksteady never programmed the open world with other characters in mind, so only a few actually work all that well at all.

I love that Batman arkham knight players are trying to get to arkham city and asylum while city players are trying to get to asylum and gotham and asylum players are straight up trying to get out of the asylum. Rocksteady should really give us a dlc for Arkham Knight at this point where we could explore all three locations😂

5:41 This is what happens to me EVERY time I attempt this glitch, I always go as far as crossing to the other side of the bridge, but Batman crouchs and gets stuck, I've tried this glitch 10s of 100s of times across the years, but I've only gotten it to work once or twice. Maybe it's a console specific thing? Anyway, great video, I love that you used raw footage too, and it's nice that I could verify that Rocksteady hasn't patched it out.

you can simply fall through the floor 100% consistent when you reach the lazarus pit you search for. Next to one of the broken traincards you simply need to walk closer to the fire close to the right side from where youre facing

How funny didnt know thos was a recent vid. I just bought my first ps4 and a bunch of games. Got three batman games Arkham Asylum, which i beat. Now im playing Arkham City and then Arkham Knight 👍 unfortunately i can get regular wifi where i have to live for now so offline play. But hopefully this weekend going to have my cousin connect my ps4 to his wifi, so i can run all the updates for everything. Arkham City has crashed one time since ive gotten the game and not done the update yet. But im hoping none of that will be an issue after i can run the updates and dix patches.

The glitch works on the Switch. The catch is, the unrendered city area is very small. And it isn't even Arkham City anymore. It's just a bland city looking place with super low quality buildings with yellow windows. Since it's so small, you can easily glide through it. Outside the unrendered city is just a death plain. I know it's the Switch, but damn.

So, the first place you were gliding through was not Arkham City, it probably isn't even Gotham; in terms of the in-universe city limits. Arkham City was just the walled off part of Gotham which replaced Arkham Asylum (and I think Blackgate Prison too) where they put all the prisoners. I don't even this that was an official name but rather a nickname (again in-universe). Only the second part you were gliding through was Arkham City - where the game takes place. Secondally if something is unrendered then you wouldn't see it. Those buildings are all rendered but just low detail with no collision, any half decent game does this if there are areas which are out of bounds, nothing special about Rocksteady doing this. Other than that, a somewhat interesting video
