I will say of the Lord; he is my refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust...!!!

Hello Corie and Matlock. I really enjoy listening to you guys on the weekend (s) wrap up. I really appreciate the time and effort you all (here and TV segments) put into showing that the Bible is a living applicable document to our lives today. With respect to the literal/scientific perceptions in the Bible, I like both Matlock's and your Corie's analogy of the seeing the forest (more so) than the trees. Rod, Janice, and Ryan ,in their TV segments, has also mentioned God is wanting a connection with believers on a social level much like humanity in general. We cannot survive as a species (if you will) without connecting with others (be it family, friends, social groups) here. It is reassuring and nice that science, archaeology (thanks to Corie and Ryan) backs up facts in the Bible. But as Matlock says, the round (or elliptical) earth was not visually known in the ancient world. That is, looking back, the "four corners" of the world (might be pertaining to the four major powers at the time of Isaiah , perhaps) has a different meaning today yet we know the earth isn't square (eg., scientific proof, pictures). But even today The ancient perceptions of the visions John had in The Book of Revelation remains even a mystery to us today. Faith, then becomes an important cornerstone to our collective beliefs.

Question from the New Testament: how can Jesus and John the Baptist be cousins considering Mary was from the tribe of Judah, but Elizabeth was from Levi? Also why did John state that he wasn’t Elijah, but Jesus said he was?

Can the Holy Spirit be lost? In the Bible it mentions twice that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the Apostles. One time he breathes on them to receive the Holy Spirit. The next time Jesus appears, the Holy Spirit comes in tongues of flames. Why twice?
