Do you honestly recommend sc live 4 for home mixing? And are built in speakers good enough for a decent mix? I know they won’t sound great but can you have another e mix? Or not really? I’m interested because I can’t really play loud music so big speakers would be a waste. I just want to put mp3 songs on usb stick, plug in to sc live 4, no laptop, no speakers , juat plug in usb and mix. Maybe I’ll get amazon music in future. I’m just worried that this sc live 4 will feel massively worse then 1210’s what I’m used to. I just really want to mix digital, now. All in 1, no laptop, no speakers, no having to dig through vinyl. I’ve never mixed digital and I just don’t know if this sc live 4 will feel bad or maybe even too basic. I just can’t make up my mind.

I'm currently looking for a budget modular travel setup and I'm having a hard time deciding between 1) Numark Scratch + Rane Twelve 2) Numark Scratch + Reloop RP8000 + phase But you convinced me to take a look for 3) Numark Scratch + Denon LC6000

I love the LC6000 players. I'm still waiting for a Prime 4 update that will have the same hight and same Jogweels to match them. I think that would be a real game changer.

No it won't. 3700 was made by the old Denon company and doesn't have any on board processing like the Engine unit. This is all part of a whole new ecosystem.

You have the spaced slot still available. Not ideal but for this device a good option.

@@Worrelpa you mean the SD slot? yeah sure thats still an option but 99.9% of DJ's are putting their music on a USB drive, just seems like a simple over looked cheap work around, they could have put a usb slot on the lc6000

Can I connect Vinyl to the SC live 4? 2 extra decks completing the 4 channel mixer? Can I connect 4 other things and use the Live 4 as a general use mixer?

Unfortunately, NO. You can only plug in 1 or 2 of this device he shows in video. If you want to plug in 2 turntables or 2 cd decks then you could buy the sc live 4 big brother , the Denon Prime 4 plus. Only problem is, the Denon prime 4 plus costs TWICE as much as SC live 4. If cost isn’t an issue and you are happy with layout of the prime 4 plus (it’s a little different) then prime 4 plus is better. If it’s too expensive then maybe you would be happy to settle for sc live 4. Or you could look into other options. Although, to my understanding, Denon ac live 4 and Denon prime 4 plus are both the cheapest all in 1 stand alone device that do these 2 different things. Prime 4 plus is about £1900-£2000 The pioneer equivalent will cost about £2800 plus. I’m torn between sc live 4 and prime 4 plus. I want to plug in my turntables BUT as I’d like to start my journey with fully digital mixing for convenience, I may act be happy enough with the much cheaper sc live 4 Basically, I don’t want to spend £2000 when the sc live 4 at £1000 may actually be more then good enough and great fun. I still have my turntables to mix separately and maybe in future, I’ll buy a stand alone dj controller that can plug in turntables and do some extra stuff.

I wish I could know exactly how limited it is😭 but yeah for me price is a big issue, this would be a huge investment for me

@@pkliskiki1800 I see your problem. Here’s the facts that I know about each product It may help with your concerns. Denon sc live 4 cost about £1000 Specs features it DOES NOT HAVE 1You can not plug in any regular turntable 2 you can not plug in any cd decks 3 you can not plug in any other brand of dj controller to have 4 actual physical decks you can touch Specs Features it does have 1 you can plug in 1 or 2 Denon LC6000 controller in 1 or the 2 USB ports, depending on if you want to add 1 more deck or if you want to add 2 more decks to sc live 4 if you want true 4 decks. There’s is an updated version of this denon LC 6000 and this upgrade has the big 10.1 inch screen and the Amazon streaming etc just like the sc live 4 but as I’m aware, unlike the LC6000 , you can not plug in this upgraded version to sc live 4 and even if you could, this will cost you £1500 each. Where as the LC6000 deff works with sc live 4 and is only £500 not £1500 like big brother. 2 so apart from plugging in 1 or 2 LC 6000 for £500 each, you can not plug any other dj deck turntable etc. so in short, if you like the denon LC6000 and £500 is good price for you, you deff can buy the sc live 4 and connect 1 or even 2 via the 2X usb. I hope that’s totally clear enough 3 along with 2X USB you also have micro sd card slot so if you do you 2 extra decks with both usb and you still want to put your own music on sc live 4 you still would have the micro sd slot 4 denon sc live 4 comes with Serato Pro no extra cost. I’m not sure if you have to go to website download etc but it’s deff free. This means if you have a laptop and say you are not happy with the screen live 4 7 inch touch screen, you can install Serato pro to laptop and now you can have whole collection of music on laptop and Serato is active. Now you can load all your songs on to sc live 4 to mix and you now have your big 13inch plus laptop screen for better visibility. Now I don’t own or never used Serato or similar but am dj and read stuff and basically, not only can you now load songs on to sc live 4 with Serato on big laptop screen, I’m certain Serato itself will have many useful impactful features that maybe even sc live 4 in stand alone may not have. Extra option and of course if you have maybe 10tb hd on laptop. You have all music in 1 space and not just on a 128 gig usb etc 5 sc live 4 has streaming capability. You can stream and mix millions of songs with sc live 4 using these streaming services, including amazon music, tidal, beat port and maybe 1 or 2 more but of course, you’ll probably need an active subscription to access this streaming feature 6 sc live 4 can control your powerful lights show if you have such setup . 7 sc live 4 has built in speakers. Most people that have not used it say this looks bad but nearly all people, regular people and reviews mainly all said , no the built in speakers are not 3000W but they actually sound way better then they expected and are actually good enough for mixing in your bedroom, living room, kitchen etc. this is especially valuable if you don’t have speakers at home, don’t have money for or don’t want to buy speakers and also great if you can’t play loud music at home. Now maybe you can have a little mix at 1am Saturday night and neighbours don’t even hear, let alone complain. 8 this I’m not 100% on it’s advertised as plug sub stick and mix. 1 reviewer on Amat left review saying sub stick play won’t work. Showed pics of red songs that won’t play. I questioned this on Amazon and KZbin and many said you absolutely can just use a regular usb stick put mp3 on and mix. Make of this what you will. 9 if you already have I believe a recordbox software with all your songs APPARENTLY you can simply put all those songs from recordbox on usb and plug and play on sc live 4. If this is genuine and you do have recordbox Library already, this could help you greatly. 10 sc live 4 has 4 actual channels but only 2 actual decks/jog wheels, you still can do 3 or 4 deck mixing. It’s just that now deck 1 is layered in to 2 decks and same with deck 2. So you kinda mix 2 songs on deck 1 and deck 2 and you switch to other layer deck to mix a third or forth song. Of course this sounds much harder then 4 physical actual decks but it’s still an option if you want 3 or 4 deck mixing but you do not want to add 1 or 2 Lc6000 at £500 each. Also, I may not explain properly but when you have 2 songs mixing nicely. Say deck 1 is in the centre spot, when you switch to the 2nd layer to bring a third track in, you can move the pitch on the third track and because it’s other layer it will not change the pitch of the first song playing in mix on other layer. The pitch will change if you switch back to the original song. And to do so is quite simple. Say we was originally on the 0 mark or the pitch, you switch to deck 3 and it’s mixing, when you switch back to track 1 the pitch will only start to change when you go back to the original pitch placement. This might sound a bit complicated but if you don’t understand my explanation, you will understand when Inpractice. Again now this 3 or 4 song mixing sounds really different and of count is, more so, in this odd layout but again it’s just an extra option . Or instead or 3 or 4 deck mixing. You can simply Stick to mixing 2 songs like normal but because you have 2 extra layers, now you can load up 4 songs at once and instead of mixing 1 song and search for another, you don’t have to because you already have 2 lined up. You simply couldn’t do this if you treat only had 2 decks and not layerd to make 4 decks. 11 last main point is of course the Sc live 4 has a fairly large selection of cool effects and sweep effects you can assign to any channel. the sc live can do and if you’re familiar with digital mixing beat pad, memory cues and all the new fun exciting ways to have experimental mixing , the sc live 4 has all lots of these features. All the above is facts be to studied my opinions. I may have missed some things . So I’d recommend having a think, looking into some of the key points I mentioned to see if they are for you and of course, find a good deal online and simply email my regrettably long comments and ask them to confirm what I listed and inform you if I’m wrong about anything and to inform you about anything I may have missed that may be important to you and of course, if you are already a dj and have experience with all this stuff then you may understand everything I wrote and it may help you decide what’s best for you. I’m still undecided myself. Of course I’ve not mentioned the sc live 4 big brother the prime 4 plus at £2000 and I’ll be brief on this now and if you are not bored to death by my comment and have any more questions, I’d be happy to reply but basically, short version 1the prime 4 plus is double price of sc live 4 has all same features and some more has slightly different layout of effects etc. sc live 4 is like traditional pioneer and prime 4 plus is more like traditional controller layout. All I know is I’ve only tried pioneer in j past djm600 and was happy. 2 the prime 4 plus can plug in 2 vinyl turntables or 2 cd decks and I think, any dj controller deck of your choice. 3 prime 4 plus is stronger build 4 prime 4 plus does not have built in speakers 5 prime 4 plus has all the effects features as sc live 4 and more, same amazon music streaming, same light controls and virtually everything else of sc live 4 That’s the short of it. And if you’re still here and thinking oh damn the prime 4 implies is way better then sc live and and looks to suit me more, don’t be too disappointed. If like me you mixed on vinyl for years and now want to try the simplicity of digital mixing whole collection of music at finger tips and you just wanted the extra option of connecting turntable, well you could decide on sc live 4, just give that a go, be blown away. Now you don’t care that you don’t have prime 4 plus because it’s twice as much as sc live 4 and your loving sc live 4 and if your new to mixing/dj’ing then you’ll probably love the sc live 4 and save a lot of money. That’s what I may do. And maybe I love my sc live 4 for 2 years, see something shiny and new and better then prime 4 plus. Sell sc live 4 say goodbye to old friend and start a new adventure. Sorry I hope I didn’t bore you to death but music is my biggest passion and I’ve stressed over what dj controller to buy for months and I really want to be ready for summer but also don’t want to spend £1000 plus and possibly be unhappy. Oh summer 1 more point I act remembering you mentioned in you reply to me. You asked something along the lines of can you use sc live 4 in public outside in park or something and you absolutely can. It does not have a built in battery without power supply but you can buy 1 of those power banks to power it anywhere and I guess extra plugged in possible LC6000 and possible speakers would also be powered by powerbank but I’ve never actually used 1. I know 100% it will power the sc live 4 outside but I’m not 100% if it will power extra decks or speakers. I’ve unfortunately not had my technic 1210’s set up in 10 years and that, my technics sound system, pioneer ddm600 is all I have experience with. I just read a lot and learn about what I’m interested in purchasing in hope I make good informed decisions . Sorry any of my points don’t make sense but if any of it does, I hope you make right choice for you. Now, you’ll probably read all that and reply with something like, yeh I think I pass on the decks and maybe take up golf and I be like oh 💩😱

Hey, I finally have the same setup. My conclusion: Denon has it, but won't give it to you 100%. At least for now. The screen of LC 6000 uses barely half of it's potential: there is no vital track information: bpm and track duration. The DenonLive4 screen is small, but good quality, runs fast, but all track data is GRAY ON GRAY and hard to read out if LC-6000 are plugged in if the horizontal waveform is used. Now in the vertical waveform, the tempo number is white on gray which is fine, but the number after the comma ...is small and gray on gray again. Do we need to have another "special view' for engine because screensize? No, the solution is already there: the in-jog screens. But for some reason, they have not been updated for LC-6000-s. LC6000 has better feel and quality, but function-wise the SC Live 4 player-sections beat the LC6k any time, & it's because the in-jog displays. So I'm wondering - they have not got the time or they're not gonna even plan to do it? Denon PLEASE!?

@@Ysosassythedj good point here, would this be an option? I mean would the whole thing run smoothly? if yes well, thinking about it... the mixer layout is the so called "standard"... (i really don't know if it would be correct to call a standard made by another brand... Ive had Pioneer and regret, and the other thing I regret these days is having sold my SL1210 and my vestax) But still, It seems the SC live 4 is a very capable device. A look ate the LC6000s as the closest approach to, once again, "club standard". The fact is it has all the bits in their proper size, and that means for me real-estate in terms of having enough room. Then we could talk about the displays... close your eyes and feel the music. A full 4 deck standalone setup for €2400.00... seriously, a valid option.

@@MarkGough-tl7ek the live 4 is not DVS compatible, however if you want to control decks 3/4 you can use the LC6000. No other alternative will work. The Prime 4 allows for analogue turntables to connect and play through, or when used with Serato, DVS control.
