I love my SC Live 4. Here in Germany the Prime 4 costs over 2400 bucks! So for almost half the price I still get a great product. You have to make some compromises, but you get some goodies in return. Like the (really good) speakers, lighter weight, club layout mixer and 12VDC input, which means it even works with several powerbanks! Ultimate portable workstation. Thanks for your video 👍

Im thinking what is it with the resellers ? Here in Denmark the Prime 4 is way overpriced too. The SC Live 4 has a "normal" price when thinking of tax and transport.

I’m torn between this Denon sc live 4 and Denon prime 4 plus. I want to be able to play vinyl and mo3 and only the prime 4 plus does this and at double the price, I’m tempted to buy this sc live 4 and simply rip all my vinyl. That way I can play my ripped vinyl along with digital. I’m so unsure tho and tempted to pay double for prime 4. Although, I guess mixing mp3 is much more convenient, then constantly digging through vinyl to mix. I just don’t want to have buyers remorse. If I rip my vinyl to mo3 to mix via Denon sc live 4, is it possible to rip them so they sound almost same as the actual vinyl? And are the built in speakers ok enough for bedroom mixing? They may be ideal because I can’t play music very loud. I’m just worried they will sound too bad.

i used to have the mc7000. It's a great controller and had a LOT of connections on the back. However it was heavy and unpractical to bring anywhere since I was still bound to a laptop. Now I have the SC live 4 and two lc6000s. This is an amazing setup as a mobile DJ. I use it at all my corporate gigs and weddings. usually without the added lc600s when I'm on the road and with the lc6000s when at home and streaming online. The features in combination with the speakers are the most bang for the buck you can get from any of the DJ standalone consoles available right now. Yes I know other models have more bells and whistles but at this price point, you can't get any better. It's got the best features altogether in one console at a perfect size. I love mine.

I have the SC Live 2 and love it. Great for a beginner at the price point and functionality. No laptop required, just log into a streaming service and you're good to go. Eventually I would like to switch up to a Pioneer RX3 or XZ. For the time being I'm happy with it.

To me and the reason I got the SC Live 4 it's to have a compact and well build equipment to play music in my house or to take it to a friends house or maybe a small gig with friends but this equipment it's not meant for clubs or festivals, this is build for home/light use but with great tech inside .. of course if you want to set a small party with your friends and need some equipment this will work 100% .. prepare your weekend playlist 100%.. People who thinks this was released to replace the Prime series are way to wrong, Prime series are still the top of the line.. the SC Live are the light version of the Primes without compromising sound and basic features. And IMO the speakers for this kind of equipment it's great.. you don't need (but you can) to hookup additional speakers to practice. A very nice pack of features controller.

I played many times with Numark Mixstream in the club, so I will play with SC 4 too. Yeah, the main rider is Pio 2000/3000, but I can add the Numark/Denon and we are playing B2B sets - and its fucking great.... Sound is good enough for a big PA systems.

Picked one up used in like new condition, 400 bucks off the new price I had to pick it up, and I'm mostly glad I did. The speakers are way better than expected, love having my Amazon music along with my SoundCloud and a 512gb SD card and started playing with linking a nanoleaf shape light to it. All really cool stuff in a unit that is easy to take around and setup. BUT why does it seem like they tried their best to make anyone who likes to do a bit of cut scratch to dog on it? If the pads were a hair more responsive, and then there are no settings in the menu to change the pad cue trigger mode like the sc5000/6000 and assume the prime 4 has. And then the fader, it didn't have to be a pro fader but just the cut in dead zone, why? It's like they went out of their way to make it undesirable to anyone that wants to DJ that way, and I'm left scratching my head as to why? I'm thinking to try and find some kind of plastic to put over the edges of the fader opening to see if I can help that cut in dead zone. I scratched around with it ok, but on such a beautiful unit, this is such a disappointment. I'm sure that's their why to make you want a prime 4, but it's so nice having the convenience of the unit. Seems like the opus quad has better elements for scratch geeks and it's not even aimed at that DJ demographic. So why Denon? Why? I otherwise love this unit, but those few things just drives yah nuts. Love the touchscreen fx too, been waiting years for a unit like this! So why cut out the scratch geeks, why?

So, I've been using Pioneer products for years and I use Rekordbox to prepare my tracks. However, I'm seriously considering this Denon. Quick question: how do you prepare music before using this controller? More specifically, say I want to manually beat grid a track, set up hot queues, auto loops, etc., before playing it on this Denon - how do you do this? Thank you.

On my prime 4 I can use my Rekordbox library too. The device transforms an Rekordbox library to engine dj automatically and keeps e.g. hotcues, key and BPM. Only downside is, that when loading a track for the first time, the prime 4 will Analyse the beat grid, which takes a few seconds, but is only done once. You can also import ur Rekordbox Library into Engine DJ Software. Since I need my library to be Rekordbox Products ready I am analyzing in Rekordbox and exporting to either the prime 4 itself or the Denon dj software. I don't see why this shouldn't work on the sc live 4

Is it possible to hear the effects in the headphones? This way I can make sure the parameters are set to my liking before I bring the song with effect in, M also, I keep hearing people say how great the speakers are and that is my only option of sound and when I hear people play them on KZbin, they crank them right up and can barely hear anything. Modes it really sound better in person? Does having the built in speakers, right in front of you, mess up mixing ability? I used to having speakers few feet away and haven’t mixed in years. So I just feel anxious. I’m about to order sc live 4 and if it looks, and performs great and speakers sound good enough, I’ll be happy. If I’m happy the joy will be immense and if it feel like a cheap toy, I’ll be gutted. Even if I get to send it back. Been in limbo for months and just don’t know if I should buy or not. Thank you.

They offer that on the Prime 4 - you’d have to step up to the next level for that. It would be a better sell sure, but would have wound up too expensive and too similar to the Prime 4.

Im really loving my new sc live 2 but I've noticed that when im using it sometimes i get an audio glitch, like a small stutter on the playing track, why is that? Is there a fix? The usb that i use is ssd, and i dont get that problem when im playing the same usb on my mixstream pro

@grahamkelly8662 nop....replaced it for a new one that also had this problem so i sold it half price and got a second hand scl4 new condition that happened to have a sound leak on channel 1&2 ....man i have no luck with denon, i will fix and sell my scl4 and get me a pioneer rx2

Yes you can. The tracks need some seconds more to load, calculate and to build up the grid. With Engine DJ on PC you can do it there and then it loadas faster with all preparations. But it works without it too.

@@DenkyMusic I didn't try it because I use exported stuff from Engine only. I should try it. But usually it writes changes back to the stick in an Engine file (it doesn't change anything on the mp3 file itself), so the next time you have all the stuff again you did, like cue points, loops ect.
