Does the Ford 300 I-6 get good gas mileage?

Had an 85er, 300-6, single barrel electric throttle body, 5 speed. If I kept it under 60, empty bed, I could see 30mpg most times. Loaded, would get down in the 10 -12 range. Bullet proof though. A guy I knew took it off my hands, he ran it until the frame snapped, around 750,000 miles.

300 miles to tank with my 86 f250 5speed with granny gear no overdrive I have a plow and I 300k still running

That’s fantastic gas mileage. You have a 45 year old truck that does better than 8 mpg. 😅

@@Compound_B_Fabrication most of them do when they’re maintained. My 77 PowerWagon got 15 empty and about 12 towing. Just gotta keep them tuned up.
