Does the Friedman IR-X Hold a Candle to the BE-50?

This is a prime example of why you want real amps in the room. The IRX with the right IR cab and mic have one of the best chances to sound and feel real. Used on a recording, jam session or live, the Friedman IRX delivers a great feel as well as tone. Responding to Emily's playing style manifested some of the best tones I have gleaned from any ‪@FriedmanAmplification‬ product thus far.

I really hope BAD makes a SLO version of the IR-X. I'm not sure really how their corporation is structured. I thought BAD was just a manufacturing, and distributing company. It seems like the new Soldano Astro amp is using the same power amp, and IR digital tech as the IR-X though. So it's entirely possible that we may see an SLO IR-X box someday.

I would say its likely based on how quickly its permeating other products like the astro20, x88ir, new syn head, etc.

Yes I agree. Having an option to take something that 95% of a crowd will never know the difference, is a great tool to have in your utility belt. I know as I get more time with the unit we can revisit the subject. I know having the correct IR loaded is a huge part of the overall tone. Once I get the ability to capture my own cabinets It will be interesting to see if I can get it closer.

probably would have been better off without the eq being involved... mine is slated for return, but tomorrow i get to run it through my cab again for a final verdict...

@@redkurn I want the final tone before I hit record, or at least as close as possible. I don’t have time for post mixing and mastering a concept video like this. I’d love to explore making them sound even closer.

I had the BE 100..... Now the IRX in my helix loop sounds and feels twice as good in stereo....don't hate on it unless you have tried both . Tube amps are barely selling these days so it makes sense as Amplifiers will no longer be a thing soon that this is a perfect solution
