Captain, save the tow truck back for the hydraulics and lift on it. You can use it for the dump trucks lift or other.

Hey Captain i have an old school tip for installing transmissions, Take a 3 inch bolt that fits your transmission holes and completely grind the hex head off, then put into the motor at 10 o clock and 2 o clock position to rest the transmission on once you get it up in position, this will give your arms a break until you can get some other bolts started, Just put them in finger tight so you can get them back out when you need,

Gotta say Mike, You are definitely upping your game.👌 Too bad there was so much rust on the tow truck frame, but looks like a lot of good usable parts, extra glass, brake lines, and maybe even a few hydraulic lines to at least get things start. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.🤙

I’m not sure if that year of ford is like the Chevy trucks but for your rear brake line make a new one and run it around the fuel tank vs between frame and fuel tank . . Definitely makes it a lot easier if it ever needs replaced.splurge on new rubber brake lines at that age the interior usually starts coming apart . Great progress 👍

2 things. 1) get a shelter like you and your brother erected at your brothers land, it only has to cover where you are working . 2) The area outside the barn, garage, shop what ever you call it, rough the gravel up, spread cement powder down, roll it flat, rough it up again in a different direction, spread more cement powder down, roll it smooth again. Then you either wait till it rains, or use a sprinkler to wet the mixture to set the cement. I made a hard standing next to my carport for my trailer and wheelie bins, I also did this for my shed, and its held up even with my 36 inch roll cab and top box sitting on it. Just a suggestion.

I oppose dry pour because the concrete averages 40% less strength than properly mixed and in some cases can be just 20% of the strength of properly mixed. From the MASH episode where they poured a concrete floor wrong. "We have 9 tons of what might as well be oatmeal."
@bendyboards
@bendyboards 6 ай бұрын
While I agree wet is best the above comment is right I could not afford the £1000 to concrete our barn floor and instead spent £25 on cement and spread and raked it on the ground watered and put a vibro plate over it. I now have a three year old sweepable floor that is still holding up even with cars on it. Sometimes cheap is good enough.
