At the right moment, tobi mae geri can work, even a tobi mawashi geri would be ideal to fake the front kick and turn into roundhouse kick midway in the technique which I use in my kumite class sessions.

One of the most effective kicks since it hard to predict (if you dont do that all the time) and very hard to block, dodging probably only effetive way to avoid this kick if you are fast enough.

The crane kick only works if you don’t spread your arms like the karate kid did in the movie because your opponent can see it coming a mile away!

Yes, it works, but Raloh Macchio is not as good as John Gardiner in karate. Acutally is pretty bad, but the film was iconic for my generation.

Sensei John I believe you could make the kick work because you are a very good kicker 🦵👍 I personally could never make the kick work because my kicking skills are very poor Also I'm old and youthful ability goes a long way .....
