It is mind boggling to me how much time is wasted by auto media journalists on useless repetitive info about interior ergonomics like scratchy plastics, bottle holders when the real deal is the driving capability / off road capability etc.

Owner with 15k kms driven on an MV here. They are bloody good things. Not perfect, but very, very nice machines. Go drive one yourself. If you listen to the flawed opinions of people who don't understand what they're reviewing, you'll invariably make the wrong buying decision.

Yeah I have a MR and test drove the MV a few days ago and i thought it was super smooth and a huge improvement but yet this guys dribbling on about it being firm and a rough ride 😂😂 you just simply can’t have a Ute that tows 3.5 tone and drives like a Mazda 6 😂🤦🏽♂️ the standards and expectations of some of these car journos are becoming unrealistic

I finally got mine in Malaysia. I'm completely blown away. Did 1500km in 2 days. I've driven other competitor brands Toyota, Ford, Isuzu but never drove the new Triton because it was only launched in Malaysia a few weeks ago. Nonetheless, i purchased mine and when I got it. Just bought one of these after driving the new hilux and dmax. Watched heaps of reviews and like this one it's frustrating to see journalists bitching about the uteness of utes.......and there's always the obligatory comparison to ranger and amarok which have historically and well documented terrible reliability.
@Mochabear854 ай бұрын
Glad you did what I did and ignored them. I mean I bought my MV GSR at launch, so really there were only the overseas reviews to go by, but owning one now and watching the many reviews that come out, it's entertaining to say the least. It's a case of IYKYK.

We have an 2017 Outlander as the family car, a very nice driving and most importantly a reliable car. This week i both my first new car, a GLS Trition and loving it. It feels better on the road than the Outlander..it has 10 years warranty. No car is perfect, but the Triton is a bloody good ute.

I drove my MR GLS down to Mitsubishi to test out this new MV Triton and I was super impressed and surprised at how improved this new MV is. Little surprised to hear you bashing the allegedly stiff suspension and unrefined engine because i definitely didn’t experience that. Its leapfrogged the Hilux by a mile that’s for sure and it’s still considerably cheaper too

Lol firm ride (as you mentioned a ton of times) is certainly not the case. I have one in GSR trim (same suspension), and drive it daily. It's better to drive than the PX3 Ranger I had before it and not a single one of my kids I take to school complain of motion sickness, or that it's uncomfortable. To be honest one of the oldest commented out of the blue that it was really comfy. Similar comments from adults that actually understand cars, how nice the suspension felt as a passenger. Does it jitter? Yes, when there's nothing in the back, like every, single, ute on the market when unladen. As much as I prefer a Ranger, these MV Tritons are better than you have articulated in this video....
@richardtimms66454 ай бұрын
Prefer a Ranger right up untill they blow up. And with half the warranty of the Triton is a big no on a shitbox ford

@mazdamedia599520 күн бұрын
Guy is a fool, that harsh sounding motor and rough shifting transmission is what you need for reliability, and the reliability has been proven with the Triton. The quest for smoothness and being silent will cost you in the future, as a young soy boy you wouldn’t understand that. As for cheap finishings , analog gauges, rear drums, and old school handbrake etc, that’s how Mitsubishi keeps them affordable.

I have the GLS which came with the updated software and I don’t have a problem with it. I pretty much have to be trying to trip it. The only thing I constantly disable is the auto stop and go as it adds too much delay to taking off. Other than that, it’s a beautiful car to drive and I never notice those other things you mentioned
@warcrabcyber99084 ай бұрын
Soft touch materials are nice, but how much soft touch do you really need in a vehicle? This is a ute not a Rolls-Royce. Most tritons will be used as part work machine , its not even a good idea to have leather and sponge everywhere. There is soft touch on the dash and doors where necessary, a ute is also not a good choice of vehicle for family comfort , you are better off with a ford everest , pajero sport , toyota land cruiser. Or even a corolla has better ride comfort than most utes. The ranger and amarok are also extremely unreliable, luxurious yes , some people had to change the transfer case in a v6 ranger after 4 months of driving.

I have 2007 triton, 300k on it, I'm looking every where for a new ute, they are way too big, and to many tech things to distract your attention. We all have no choice, manufacturers are forcing stuff we don't need. My extensive search still takes me back to the triton, due to the past experiences with the dealer and Mitsubishi being exceptional from 2007 purchase
