It has the range, I own and ride one. If you use eco mode and use your own power you can do 70-80 miles on it. I’m 64 years old now and I call it my “No Drop Policy” bike! I could care less anymore who doesn’t like that I’m riding and e bike with a motor. I’ve ridden a regular rode bike since I was 18 years old. I never try and drop the guys I ride with, I just like keeping up and pulling for them when we are on the last leg of the ride. I also bought the battery extender for long rides. Love this bike!

I have the Creo 2 Expert and love it! And I’m nearly 68 years old. How much is the range extender?
@petewade9675Ай бұрын
@@seattlebicycler3657 the range extender was $500 bucks…a bit pricy but does help on an extended ride where you might need the extra battery power.

Yes with extender if it is very fast paced. Road with 21 to 23 mph group 60 miles and batteries were toast at the end. Used eco and mid level. N

So I decided to buy the Specialized Creo e-bike, and have now done three test rides on it, paying close attention to battery life. On the first two rides, my battery charge dropped from 100% to 80% after 20 miles. Most of the miles on those rides were done in Eco mode, although I did experiment a bit with the higher power levels. The third ride consisted of a 30 mile loop, most of which was done in the Sport and Turbo modes. Several miles were done in Turbo mode at a steady speed of 28 mph, and the final 1.2 miles was a slight uphill climb at an average speed of 25 mph, also in Turbo mode. At the end of this ride, battery power had decreased to 60%. With the exception of a few small climbs, the terrain in all three rides was pretty flat, so if you happen to live in hilly territory, your results may differ from mine. All in all, I'm very impressed with the bike. In Eco mode it has more range than I'd ever use, and because it's so easy to pedal on flat roads, riding it with the motor off feels almost the same as my other road bikes.

Thanks for watching and the comments. Glad you are enjoying as it is one of the best bicycles on the market. I really enjoy riding it.

yep run out of gears downhill. I have changed mine for a 44tooth Woolftooth because I am 76 and need to have a high cadence because of my knees. Also the Woolftooth is a much better design.

@wardandrew234127 ай бұрын
@@rivergladesgardenrailroad8834 No, my rides are typically below 50 miles, so there's no need for a range extender.

Great video, You must have some good confidence in your tires. It was like a roller coaster decent. Been out testing a Creo this weekend and am impressed so far. did a 40 mile 2000ft ride today and had 11% left so would prob need a range extender but I usually do 50 plus but happy with the ride. Seems stronger on the climbs than my Orbea gain d30 50/34 and 11/40 and they weighed the same. The motor definitely helps up the plus 10% hills and the gear range was not that different from my Orbea in terms of the same ride. How the hell can you keep that pace up but I guess you have assist up to 28mph and I only get 15mph. I did not think it would make much difference but watching your video it certainly does. I think I need to get an unrestricted solution.
@thee-bikeandacousticrider11 ай бұрын
Yes the Continental STR in. 700x32 is a great tire. On this ride you are correct you need the 28 mph speed. There were quite a few times the group was moving faster than that and it makes it hard. The group I ride with is really fast.

I test rode one yesterday. I thought I'd hate it, but now I'm thinking of selling some of my other bikes and buying one. On flat roads, it doesn't feel any heavier than my other bikes, so I'd probably only have it in power mode when doing hill climbs.

At which speed does the electric assistance cut off? Here in Europe it is at 26 km/h. I think that is a problem when going with faster riders.

The motorcylist has the wrong attitude to be ridding a motorbike. Eventually his testorone is going to get him into trouble with larger much heavier car or truck, and then he will be a statistic.

I have ridden motorcycles since I was 12 and all I can say about that guy was what a jerk. I wonder what he thinks when he crosses a double yellow to pass a car? Obviously he has no concern for the speed limit. Any way, I want a Specialized Creo but I am so out of shape these days. In the olast year I have had both knees replaced and am now looking at getting surgery on my back. Someday maybe. BTW, I'm 68 now.

You shouldn’t be taking up the whole lane in a 2 lane road. It’s unsafe and rude. You should be in a single line near the shoulder. I’m a cyclist myself.

Thanks for watching and the comments. Yes we try our best to hug the edge of the road as much as possible. Depending on the group size etc and road conditions will dictate how far over to the right we can go. But great point and advice.
