Just to make it clear.... reverb and delay actually sound very good into this head...as do most pedals I have tried with it 😎 Yes a loop would be nice but it is definitely not essential.
@michaelpananos58923 жыл бұрын
If you turn the gain up it definitely matters. Reverb or Delay sounds terrible in front of a driven amp - if you only use pedals for distortion, they all work great, but I like turning the gain up a bit on my MV50 - so I'll be putting in an effects loop (saw a great tutorial here on KZbin).

You should really hear the speaker emulation out on these. It's much better than it should be. Having recorded a couple of these, I can tell you that I have used the direct out in greater proportion to a mic'd speaker cabinet from these.
@MarvelJAM6 жыл бұрын
Screw the effects loop. We need a good direct out we can record with. Obviously we would be able to turn off the speaker emulation so we can add a high quality one.

Like 99% of people I have never played a Dumble but I have listened to a few demos of the real thing and the best example for me is one by Mick Taylor(no not the Bluesbreakers, Clapton one his journo/Pedal Show namesake). I haven't heard any emulation which gets even close, and this Vox is no exception.

My opinion: I think the best way to find the G Spot of this amp should be the opposite : from full gain backwards ; I don't believe it is supposed to play well al low gain settings (as it is heard in the demo) so it's a matter of finding the right match with the guitar , so I think that is better starting at full gain then decreasing it until you find the perfect balance between sustain and clarity.

Kind of late to the party sorry. I play a fuzz, overdrive, distortion, chorus and a reverb pedal (not all at once) in front of the Boutique and have to say it performs very well for its size and prize. We played a medium sized gig a couple of days ago and I had the volume around 1 o'clock, could have gone so much louder still! But the "flat or deep" switch really makes no sense, as far as I can hear, deep doesn't give you more bass, just makes everything a bit flabbier. Otherwise in flat mode it screams and in my opinon the density of the Boutique works great with a fuzz or for soloing. So the tiny top plus a 12'' cabinet and my pedalboard together weigh about 15 kilograms which is pretty awesome for gigging also I very much dig the impedance switch. Great little thing if you ask me but the point about the FX loop makes sense of course, great review thank you very much!

I think your statement on thinness is dependent on what speaker you pair it with and what eq you mix with. I would say your comment is stating how you have set it up which is not great! tried it with the Vox V speaker in the shop with a tele and a gibson and both were super with gain 3pm and volume 9am. I have a Jensen C12k sounds good Celestion G12 anniversary sounds great Celestion G12 m sounds crap. Question is for me, is this as good as buying a dumble pedal like the twimble which is 75$ more, does it give a good sound. For me they are great for wet dry wet as the dry amp

The speaker simulation on these is actually not bad IMO. It indeed is basically an EQ curve, not an impulse response, but I actually prefer that. Impulse responses get tiring to listen to on headphones because of the static peaks/dips. A smooth EQ curve does not. Just my personal findings.

According to this video by VOX (facebook.com/voxampsuk/videos/2124516147577419/?v=2124516147577419), the cab sim can be bypassed if you pull out a mono jack one position. I hear the difference with the Deep switch at 9:30, but it doesn't seem you gave it much of a chance. If the high gain leads at the end were a bit more bitey than the Dynamis, did you try the Deep and lowering the tone to 5 there? mighta got it closer to that thick lead sound of the big D....

Piet Muijs I use an MV50 AC as my main amp through a 4 ohm 1x12. Sounds huge and is easily gigable - used it at band practice last night with gain at 9 o'clock and volume at 12. Pedals sound great through the front end, flanger, delay, reverb, trem, etc. It has enough headroom to get all your gain from pedals and be plenty loud so there's no problem with the effects going crazy. They're very seriously usable, cheap secondhand too...
@Samadabedi6 жыл бұрын
Seem like they'd ve great as a backup as well as a portable amp to take to go jam with people. All you need us a very loud speaker and an amp voiced with a lot of mids. I use an OR15 and it's plenty loud to jam with people and to gig with.

@@zebmrowka7733 How's the MV50 Clean with pedals? I'm not so sure about the Boutique - I don't think it's my "thing". I just need a good, fairly neutral platform to use with my 112Cab (Celestion V-Type, the Bassbreaker one, I forget which model speaker) and/or DI with the NUX Solid Studio IR loader/power-amp&mic position emulator). I was thinking of getting the Mooer Baby Bomb, as I already have one of their micro preamps (002, UK Gold) which is fantastic for DI-ing with my board and the NUX Solid Studio, but If I want to use my cab without lugging around one of my combos (I don't own any heads), I'd need a power amp solution. thanks for entertaining whilst being absolutely honest (like about the AC tone and putting a loop in, it is $200 it should also have a loop) None of us care if it goes an extra 2" wider its already small as shit so....I guess since I run 3 massive fuzz pedals with six other pedals on my board if I go this route the 'clean' is the one to get...although the next question would be what would be better than the 'clean' model in the under $300 category

The fake woodgrain panel suggests American/Fender voicing (as opposed to "British") and since the 90z there are dozens of boutique builders in the USA inspired by Fender's legacy. Whatever the design goals, Korg made something cool under that decorative handle... Anyway, does the class-D power amp also break up like the Electro Harmonix pedal-power amps, or is the dirt only coming from the NuTube???
