He has been cheating online sincs his early teens. Magnus also set up a trap for him to check if he cheats in tour games and Hans walked right into it. He went from a struggling borderline GM to the fastest climb from 2500 to 2700 by any player ever.

Hans was cheating in online games between age of 12 to 16 and he was caught and he admitted too. Last year or so magnus lost the game on the board and accused him of cheating but provided no proof. All investigations that were official found that hans did not cheat in the game against magnus. Hans took them to court and case are dismissed with judge saying that these people (magnus and Hikaru etc) did not conspire together. (That means hans can sue them individually). They settled outside of courts and thats all

grenke can of course change its own qualification rules, but that would mean changing the whole format. they even allowed Fridman to play in this years classic though he only qualified in 2019. Hans will definitely play 2025 Grenke classic. only question is if Magnus will show up.

Garry quits the 1975 classical WCC Vs Anatoly Karpov, is arrested in Russia (instead of Japan), immigrates to Iceland and dies in 2008. 1975 is not a big loss. In fact, it's better because Bobby Fischer takes over. 1978 is Bobby vs Anatoly match of the century in Baguio, the Philippines! Idk what happens in 1981, but then 1984 Eugene Torre wins the candidates and faces Anatoly/Bobby! In 1976, I guess Eugene still beats Anatoly. Either Anatoly or Bobby. (Trivia: In our world, Eugene almost beat Bobby in 1992.) 3 - Bobby is still alive in 2024. Bobby, Anatoly, Sergey Karjakin, Wesley, Nepo are on Lex Fridman's podcast while Magnus, Garry & Hikaru aren't. 4 - In the 2019 inaugural world Kasparov Deterministic chess championship (WKDCC), Magnus beats Wesley in 3 classical chess1 games in a row in but no one cares. Fabi is still the top 4 in the 2019 world chess1 championship but the top3 is now Liren. Nepo has never played a chess1 game, just as in our world Liren has never played a recorded 9LX game before 2024Feb. 5 - Wesley/Nepo doesn't quit the 2023 classical WCC. Nepo/Wesley wins 2022 candidates and no one cares about Liren. Wesley So Vs Ian Nepomniachtchi is the biggest rivalry in chess, far exceeding as well as succeeding the next biggest rivalry Bobby Fischer vs Anatoly Karpov, like Better Call Saul to Breaking Bad. Wesley, & Nepo are both considered GOATs along with Bobby & Anatoly. There's no distinction between GOAT & MTOAT. Fiiiine Magnus is right about keeping regular chess for rapid & blitz.) So there's still a 2022 rapid world chess1 championship, half a century after the 1972 REGULAR match of the century. This time Hans Niemann wins beating Hikaru Nakamura on tiebreaks. This time Hikaru accuses Hans, but Hans still sues both Hikaru & Magnus. Ches***m is not sued and is just as good as lichess. Hans is still considered the next Bobby Fischer / Anatoly Karpov while Wesley & Nepo are still considered the current Bobby / Anatoly. 8 - In 2024Feb, FIDE still cancel their 2024 WKDCC, but Wesley & Nepo host a rapid chess1 championship but don't invite Magnus & Liren. Hans isn't a cheater but has still has beef with St Louis Chess Club and so doesn't play that due to scheduling conflicts, but Magnus & Hans are still going to eventually defend the, resp, classical & rapid world chess1 championships. 9 - In general, chess doesn't have that many cheaters, cheating incidents, baseless accusations, etc and has very little corruption, discrimination, treason, politics, etc. FIDE is hailed as 1 of the cleanest sports/gaming organisations. Chess is an olympic sport. Bobby/Anatoly are FIDE officials. 10 - Tiebreaks are settled by armageddon w/ auction rather than lower time controls, so Sergey & Fabi still lose to Wesley/Nepo in resp 2016 & 2018. But no one calls for change of tiebreaks to rapid time controls. Lol. Also, pre-arranged draws are so rare. 11 - Sergey isn't banned because Sergey only privately supports Putin because chess doesn't make people go insane unless they the players want to stick to 1 SP only, like Garry. 12 - Actually here, Bobby has very neutral feminist enlightened political views and is a true patriotic Jew & American ( in politics in addition to still being such a patriot in chess ) while respectfully criticising both US & Israel along side condemning Osama bin Laden / Al-Qaeda & Ismail Haniyeh / Hamas. So Bobby is still against Iraq invasion. 13 - Most importantly, no one cares about Garry, Magnus, Hikaru or Liren. It will take quite a lot more time and energy on his part to fully close this chapter of his career, leaving the shady behavior in the past. He's obviously a very strong player, and that's all I care about at the end of the day. Just playing good chess 👍 That said, Fischer Chess is far more interesting. Traditional chess has become 90% theory, and at the top level it's often a toss-up between who has memorized the most theory. "Yes I remember this position, the proper move is... " Boring.

only one with the vibrations is magnus, conveniently playing like a computer when rapport was winning. funny isnt it because to play at that strength he would never be in a losing position and yet he constantly wins these "miraculous" games when money is on the line coming back from positions that someone of his apparent strength would never really get into in the first place. tl dr magnus plays thinking he will win and when he isnt winning because other super gms are just as good as he is he gets some extra help because nobody would believe he would cheat but in the last two years this pattern of playing normal chess and suddenly turning on computer mode to win money tournaments is not only clear but also totally different to how he played before that time.

Hans is a good player, no doubt, but he is also a cheater, and he has a long long way before his reputation is even close to restored, which I doubt will ever happen as Hans continues to make a fool of himself with his constant stupid statements and actions.

I don't see Magnus defending his title. With Hans playing Grenke, he might decide to play Wijk aan zee and say this is the only classical tournament I will play this year. He's already moving away from the longer format chess tournaments. I know some will say "Oh it's 45 +10, it's rapid." Is it...45 + 10 isn't rapid chess. Rapid chess shouldn't take almost 2 hrs in some cases to play a game. I personally liked the time format. The viewer got a good mix of classical/speed chess. I could be wrong, but something tells me that if Magnus doesn't have to play Hans, he won't. He just doesn't like him and his cheating past. So why would he do him the honor of playing chess with him. He's the greatest player ever( so far). If he doesn't want to play a former cheater, then that's his decision. He's earned the right to say fu!@ this cheater. I don't feel comfortable playing him. Let him play everyone else because I refuse to waste time playing someone of questionable morality.

I don't like Hans, but I feel bad about how everyone treated him He's a serious player and yet whilst still being a teenager people were making accusations of sex toy usage to cheat at IRL chess tournaments. Truly a pitiful time for chess, very disgraceful. No proof, just the court of public opinion spearheaded by two of the biggest chess personalities in the world. If Hikaru was being accused of the same stuff he'd have a mega freak out about how damaged his reputation and honour is. Lucky Hans is able to roll with the punches.

game was already over. Kind of a lazy video by Agad as he didnt explain anything but Hans had a +6 engine advantage for the last half of the match. The game was positionally lost an the opponent had essentially already given up at this point in the game.

The thing I don’t understand about love for Hans is that he’s a confirmed cheater - who also lied about the extent of his cheating. In any other sport he would’ve been a pariah. Why does anyone care if he plays OTB? Yes, he’s a young, strong player; we’ve got dozens of those. I don’t mind agadmator covering his games in his polished, neutral, informative style. What is strange to me are all of the people rallying to his defense.
