It sucks because I feel like most fans ignore tr lau trilogy cause it's part of the crystal dynamics series but personally its my favorite in the tomb raider not just because of the arcadey gameplay but the writing for lara in this series is easily the best making her both brave and badass while also letting her have friends to banter with that shows a softer side of lara that's not too over bearing. ( also keeley hawes is the best voice for lara and that's why she been voicing the character for the longest).

I remember loving the Legend Trilogy as a child in the 2000s, especially TR Anniversary. A remaster collection in the same ilk as the recent classic trilogy released in 2025 or '26 would be something i would pre-order and get day one. Keeley Hawes was the Lara Croft i grew up with, and is my favorite voice for Lara.

I also thought that Tomb Raider Legend trilogy should also deserved a mobile port (Android and iOS) from Feral Interactive since Hitman: Blood Money finally gets a mobile port last year. But this might be difficult enough to get it ported and released and not because of most or some phones might cannot run this game unlike Grid Legends, but this can be have some sort of roadblock because of licensing issues, with Crystal Dynamics being under Embracer Group and not with Square Enix (then Eidos) anymore. Even Hitman Blood Money was originally published by Eidos and I guess IO Interactive currently own the rights to Hitman just by themselves after all...

And I also love to play the LAU collection on my phone because I recently played Legend and Anniversary's PSP ports on my phone using PPSSPP emulator as I found out it's still pretty decent, despite the control inputs for the PSP LAU ports (Underworld was not getting a PSP port) are pretty confusing sometimes...

I don't have any doubt we'll be getting a LAU Remaster. It would only make sense. The NEW game is still years away. Might as well fill that time by putting a resh coat of paint on older games. And LAU was made by Crystal Dynamics. So, why wouldn't they want their own games to receive that glow-up? LAU still looks great, but the character models could use some updating and you can put in updated lighting effects and make things look a lot better.

3:30 I've said this multiple times over different videos, I sound like a broken record. But at one point devs actually want Lara to cut her hair short (her hair gets stuck, a life and death situation) in the 2013 reboot as a lowkey symbolism that this game is NOT the past Lara. It's mentioned in the official artbook. Which to me essentially meant devs wanted to ride on the coattails of a franchise with a solidified fanbase while overhauling everything (aka who tf is this girl even) so they could still gets money from loyal fans. It annoyed me so much. Good thing the idea never went past the chopping board.

I can see there being a remaster of the Tomb Raider Legends Trilogy at some point in the future made by Aspyr or another studio. If there is going to be one they need to fix Tomb Raider Anniversary's climbing bugs and glitches. They also need to remove Lara losing her balance animation quicktime events that stunlocks you at random times trying to jump onto the small pillar tops. If there is ever going to be a continuation of the Legends Tomb Raider series. They won't be made by Crystal Dynamics. They despise classic Lara and hate the legends Lara.

Man, I love to see remaster of these games, especially Legend. I have fond memories of it. It was the first game I played when I bought a new computer. And it was a blast! The whole trilogy, well Underworld not so much. But I love what they did to Lara, easily the best in the series. She is wisecracking charismatic and badass all at the same time, sexy and Keeley Hawes just nailed her voice with soothing, pleasantful quality to it without making the character soft. And imagine what remaster would do to those games, it'd look riot. I never liked much Survivor trilogy, it's not Lara. What do you think, Joe?

Really enjoying the first trilogy remaster and really looking forward to 4 5 and 6 in February especially as TR5 was the one game thar avoided me. Just at the midway point of TR3 and the only other TR I haven't completed aside from V. The last trilogy may actually be easier to remaster with lighting and graphics overhaul as the entire world doesn't nessasarily need a major overhaul. Interested to see what the achieved with the controls on VI which was very hit and miss and if they were corrected AoD would be vastly improved just with a few tweaks to the game mechanics. These tweaks if implemented would no doubt mean we will get the last trilogy as it would mean they would have the schematics transferable straight away for the last three games, making even easier the project in terms of updating. Extra sky boxes, dynamic lighting and bit mapping would be relatively straight forward, therefore without major surgery you'll have a brilliant updated trilogy.

Unlike with the remaster of Angel of Darkness the question is not if it is possible to do that but if it is necessary. You see unlike the older games the lau trilogy allready has good graphics and a smooth gameplay. So it will be up to the fans of the legend trilogy to justify a full remaster over a simple ps4/ps5 port One reason that i heard were the DLC levels for tomb raider underworld. I honestly think these games were good on their own but they are not that good when compared to the first four masterpieces that came out on the PS1 (keep in mind that I grew up with all of them simultaneously and always preferred the older entries). I don't think it's worth it to remaster them for they are already modern-looking enough and are not really in line with what Tomb Raider is actually supposed to be. Personally I'd prefer if they went ahead and actually did a new game after the 4-6 remasters in the older PS1 style (with modern and tank controls included and the graphics present in the remasters). Either that or go ahead and remaster another series that deserves it like Syphon Filter.

The series never improved, it devolved. We grew up knowing and enjoying a series done a certain way and if they want to change it then fine but don't expect us to like it. I enjoyed the LAU trilogy but it certainly isn't what I want out of Tomb Raider. Also, I'm not saying this purely out of nostalgia as I actually played the PS1 games at the same time as the LAU trilogy and even back then I vastly preferred the classics. Of course we are nasty towards the newer games after the company that is doing them is literally killing the franchise and dissing classic fans in the process. The LAU trilogy isn't what we are against, it simply represents the start of the downfall of the franchise as we knew it and therefore many classic fans don't see it in the best light for obvious reasons when taking into account the horrible state of the series in the present.

As some guys in the comments said correctly, there already is a HD Collection (= remaster by definition) containing Legend, Anniversary and Underworld for PS3. This remaster collection received good reviews back then, and is a good way to play these games nowadays. Legend and Anniversary are PS2 games, Underworld is a PS3 game. Did you even play them on their release consoles? Did you play the HD collection on PS3? Having seen the video, I doubt it. Imho it is weird that the video doesn't mention the HD collection at all and basically pretends that these games never has revision. This is simply wrong. Also it is wrong to compare 1+2+3 to L+A+U, because 1+2+3 were PS1 games which in fact never have had a remaster for 25 years until 2024, so there was a good reason to do this. As for L+A+U, I hope the developers do not waste time for an second remaster, which is unnecessary because it would only bring the game to the newest console gen, but gamewise would not bring any substancial improvement. Rather let them finish the 4+5+6 remaster, especially 6 needs revision badly. Then let them work on a completely new game. By the way a PS3 console plus the HD collection game are cheap to get, often cheaper than a single PS5 game list price.

I personally enjoyed TR 2013, but it's my understanding that the TR core fanbase hate the survival trilogy, so putting the Legend trilogy in that engine wouldn't work. 🤷🏻‍♂

It’s just my opinion ofc, but anything after Angel Of Darkness is not what I’d call a proper Tomb Raider Experience. No exploring, just very linear shooting and ledge grabbing. You always know where to go, everything is prompted, etc. Plenty of such games mass produced already

Personally I hope it fails and CD loses the franchise. I liked the originals growing up and hated the changes they made to Lara and her back story legend onwards.

@joethealternativegamer3935 They changed her backstory from being disowned by her parents cos of her choices for adventure to parents dead and her following in footsteps. Made it all soap opera-y with relationship drama. Changing her personality to be a whiny cry baby with mummy and daddy issues. The gameplay became less unique and more and more watered down till it literally just became Uncharted 2.0 And they continue to redesign Lara to the point she doesn't even look like Lara anymore. She was at least somewhat tolerable in LAU but the cracks were showing but I absolutely can't stand her in the survivor series or the Netflix anime.

@@joethealternativegamer3935 Yeah it's an overall feeling of decline. I haven't really played legend since release which I rented from blockbuster and completed over a weekend aside from when they added it to PS+ recently I played an hour n didn't enjoy it n turned it off.
