A small note about the p Values is that once you start testing for more than one thing, the chances of getting a 'statistically significant' result increases. There's nearly a 15% chance of at least one of the three results passing the 0.05 p Value test.

Should a Chi Squared test not be used in this case as you are comparing the corraltion between different data sets. I might just give this to my stats teacher to see what he says.

Hey great video as always! One thing others and myself have yet to perfect is... Wait for it. Great video title incoming for you... [How To Master Pit Stops:] (Justin's masterclass on how to maximize pit entry, pit stops and pit exits) Ha.. ha.. anyways I always hesitate on proper pit entry speed and brake points coming to the entry line, once I'm in the pits as do others I'm certain due to many wrecks I've witnessed in that situation. When should you turn in and apply the brakes to stop? When you're released how do you maximize your exit? How do you avoid wheel spin on exit? I'm sure everyone here wants to avoid sloppy pit stops in general and this would make a superb video too.

Try this in NR2003 and you'll go into a spin. Though I think your swerving had a significantly higher frequency than what we see in real life, which probably is what caused the extra tire wear.

How about the difference on long smooth “loading” swerving vs short burst, traction “break” swerving. IRL short swerving cleans the tires up quickly but long loaded swerving seems to raise the core temp & pressure the quickest. Do you think that applies to iRacing?
@crazzymonky
@crazzymonky Жыл бұрын
Isn’t the swerve used to remove debris from the tires? I have been around racing my whole life and I use to think it was for warming tires when I was younger but I was corrected and told that when they are driving slow they pick up a lot of small stuff on the tires so they swerve to clean the tires and reduce the risk of spinning on restart?

Best scenario for tire warming for Q is to roll in the tires with a balanced, unabrasive, 1st lap with no braking at 50-75% speed.

I was told IRacing doesn’t share tire temperature information with third party apps so I’m not sure if that’s accurate. Along with I think the next gen cars swerving does heat them up.

The change made was they tires reset when the car is under 35mph on outlap, what they did to change how heat is built was a bit more vague

I wonder if the better temps on the rear tyres with the brake stabbing method is actually due to the following acceleration? My main category as a fan is F1. It's generally accepted that swerves helps, but to a lesser extent as they simply cannot put the necessary G's to put those tyres to work for most of the formation lap. The fronts are mostly heated by braking (cue in brake magic and Hamilton's PTSD from Baku), and the rears by the slip ratio from acceleration - the heavy throttle and mainly the burnouts when gridding again. So perhaps you got the rear tyres to heat up better on the stab braking method relative to the brake dragging because in the latter you were holding a steady pace while in the former you were repeatedly putting some significant longitudinal G's on that rubber?

I wanna know two things: How exactly is safety rating calculated? I know there's some sort of Formula, number of corners and number of incidents being factors, but does proximity to other cars without contact matter? Or number of cars? The other is what's the best way to USE UP fuel under yellow? I've had a few races where I've tried burning an extra couple laps off under yellow to try and save weight before green since I had plenty of fuel. Best I can think of is riding brake and trying to keep throttle as close to wide open as possible in the lowest gear possible without hitting the limiter.
@lhsimracing4640
@lhsimracing4640 Жыл бұрын
It is caculated by number of corrners per incident point in in your ~last 2000 laps. In road racing its about 35 corners per incident to be A2.00 not sure if this is the same for oval racing. No other factors effect SR as far as I know

- Idk if it's been proven or not but, running near the wall in qualifying slows you down because of the air cushion effect. Especially at super speedways. - Does anti stall slow down pit box exits?
@ihateracin
@ihateracin Жыл бұрын
Anti stall should only kick in if you falter, I’ve never seen anti stall kick in other than under heavy braking in a spin, where locking the tires would kill the engine. I always clutch in and out now so it’s more of a safety net and I haven’t seen the little light blue line in a months :)

I always wondered how to get faster pit stops, something I've struggled with and wanted to know if there was a trick. It alway seems when I'm racing coke or pre-coke drivers that they always have quick stops. Never understood if it was random or just had to be on the money. Something else I would test and have tried is being as close to the middle at possible, not to far left not to far right, and coming in at an angle.
@DJYeeJay
@DJYeeJay Жыл бұрын
I good stops also have to do with getting in and out of the box. I still am not great on my launches but having good consistent launches is worth like a full second over a bad one. I would do a vid on it but I'm not good enough yet haha
@SlickDisaster26
@SlickDisaster26 Жыл бұрын
@@DJYeeJay that is something I bad at too that I'm trying to work on. With iracing locking you from accelerating til the stop is complete it's hard to ride the clutch to get a solid launch and not do a big burnout losing time.

For tire temps did you record the tread or the core temps? Because from what I've heard the core is what mostly matters. From my experience in road racing stabbing the breaks is more useful to get heat into the core of the tire and have the breaks warmed up a bit for the start of the race, but I've never seen a huge improvement in pressures no matter what I do tbh.
@DJYeeJay
@DJYeeJay Жыл бұрын
These were center tread temps. Correct me if I’m wrong but the pressures would be directly correlated to internal temps right? In race situations I think it depends on if you want the temp in front or rears, I’d probably usually go with drag though for us oval guys
