Does Trinnov’s new digital converters impress? First reactions!

You will get a sneak peek at Robin’s room which is a combined home cinema and HiFi-room. He uses a Trinnov Altitude 16 AV-processor to calibrate his 9.4.4 Dolby Atmos home cinema.
Robin has decided to upgrade the digital converters in his Trinnov Altitude 16 and you will see both mine and Robin’s initial reaction.
The old Burr Brown converters have been around for many years, and finally they have been replaced by ESS Sabre converters - both the DAC and ADC chips - and the result is nothing but spectacular!

Thanks for watching the video! Hehe, I wish I was tech-savvy enough to come up with this upgrade, but no, the upgrade is from Trinnov. Contact your local Trinnov dealer for price information and upgrade procedure. 👍 PS. Coming to think of it, I have actually swapped the surface-mounted op amps in another digital converter - twenty-five years ago - and it worked and sounded better...for a year, then the power supply burnt up. 🤣 Cheers Frederick

Would this be an upgrade over the Datasat Rs20i?

Well, roughly priced the same, the Trinnov Altitude 16 offers Trinnov calibration, whereas Datasat RS20i offers DIRAC calibration. There are a lot of cheaper AV-processors that offers DIRAC calibration - but only Trinnov Altitude 16/32 and JBL Synthesis SDP-75 offers Trinnov calibration. Hands down, the new ESS Sabre digital converters in Trinnov Altitude sound fantastic. As a Trinnov installer in HiFi, home cinema and pro audio, I always recommend Trinnov calibration to my customers. It's future-proof, has market-leader performance and just sound great. @@immersivesoundtech Thank you for the reply. I have a datasat currently and waiting for a trinnov demo. The Datasat rs20i is cinemike tuned so its already better than the original one. I have heard the trinnov original and the cinemike tuned one. Both great sounding units but in a different enviroment is always harder to judge. i agree the trinnov is future proof, but Datasat promised the same ;).

Well, the best thing would be to demo a Trinnov Altitude in your home cinema. A lot of work, for sure, and you need to find a Trinnov reseller that let's you demo an Altitude in your home cinema. All I can say is that it will be worth the effort. 👍

Ja, det måste du göra! 😃 Det har hänt mycket med Robins setup sedan du sist fick en demonstration: uppdaterade golvhögtalare som låter riktigt bra, front-wide högtalare, två extra subbasar, ny mediaspelare, IsoTek power-conditioning, ny soffa och uppdaterade digitalomvandlare. Nu är ljudbubblan total! 🎵🤩 Du är varmt välkommen nästa gång jag kör demo hos Robin! ❤️
