I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

Being personal and vulnerable is actually a profound strength. It takes courage to show up as your true self in a world that often celebrates perfection and filters. And it's this courage that makes you stand out and draws people in-not just as followers, but as genuine supporters and allies on your journey. So, when you embrace your vulnerabilities and share them openly, you’re not just being true to yourself-you’re inspiring others to do the same. Keep going, you’re doing amazing!

Virginia, I found your challenge on my feed because I'm starting to upload more videos and trying to revive my channel. I love your honesty and the fact that it doesn't seem like you're trying to hold anything back from us (learning wise). I've learned a lot! I'm an artist and am hoping to share parts of my life as an artist and that includes being an older woman (and feeling invisible and all that goes with that... bleh). Showing just my art and my painting process in the past has only attracted other artists, which is fine but I believe that today people want to have more of a connection with artists. At least I'm hoping so. So, I'm trying the same thing you are by opening up, being vulnerable and authentic. I'm not doing the daily videos like you have, I did try it just hasn't worked out. But I'm not stopping, just trying to be more consistent and hopefully create videos that people and potential collectors might find interesting. Thank you for creating these videos!

YOU have no idea how much you've helped me and others. Such an inspiration. I know that I really need to post more often. My struggle is who is my audience. I think I'd like to reach the 50 plus group and I like funny skits too. I haven't reached 100 subs or nowhere near 4000 watch hrs, but after following your 20 days of posting, I feel better equipped on what and how to grow. Thank you so much my sister in Christ. I've decided to do something similar, daily videos for a month or so, but batch creating ahead of time. My goal is to clue the algorithm in that I've changed direction with my channel. I'm still getting most of my traffic from older videos where I'm doing something I no longer do. I hope it has the desired result. Thanks for all the great info you've been sharing. I'll go back and re-watch several videos.
@JaymaMalme3 ай бұрын
Just a thought…is your new direction different enough to warrant a new channel? Or would your current subscribers also be interested in the new direction? Just wouldn’t want a bunch of unsubscribes or people not clicking, which would mess with your YT suggested content, if your currents subs aren’t the right audience anymore. Best of luck!!
@WendyDewarHughes3 ай бұрын
@@JaymaMalme My new direction is not dramatically different from what I was doing, which is why I'm trying to turn the ship rather than get a new channel. I think there's enough cross-over, and a following with people who like me. Thanks for the thought.

Hey Virginia I had been participating in your challenge until a week ago, I had a pretty bad fall & broke my neck. I’m recovering and luckily not too concussed to catch up on your videos I had missed while in the hospital. I’ve been making KZbin videos for over a year and about nine or 10 months in my niche, which is spiritual, helping people embody empowerment. I love all things creative so the video process is a lot of fun to me however, I’m not having any engagement in comments specifically. I know you mentioned you would look at different channels and maybe give some feedback. I would love to hear what you think if you’re still doing that. Your channel has been such an inspiration. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you 🙏 for your incredible & supportive energy. xo

I found your channel during this challenge and I've been thinking about taking my channel more seriously and joining the TCG space as a creator. You've given me a lot to consider and think about in getting started. Thank you for all the advice and suggestions. For me, I think the one thing keeping me from starting or getting consistent is that I worry about editing because I don't have any editing software or it's all free low budget stuff. One of my friends saw me getting in my head a bunch and she told me to look up like 3 or 4 of the channels I like watching in my niche, but to focus on their first videos because in my friend's words, I have to "let yourself be crunchy". I'm looking forward to trying that and seeing how that makes me feel in addition to applying some of the tips I get from creators like you. Thank you for this challenge. Not sure I'm going to try to hold myself to anything just yet, but I'm so glad I found it and you.

I’m still learning how to deliver information in the way that my audience can understand it. I realised I make videos that are too complex and packed with information, even though I am totally myself in those videos. I love KZbin, but not instagram. I feels hard for me to grow there because I didn’t found yet my authentic and successful way to make reels. But the secret is simply never quit. 😂 But you are so right, I stared to enjoy it when I released the pressure and focus on the passion in doing videos. 🎉

Hello Virginia. I have been watching your KZbin challenge and videos before the KZbin challenge started but it has been enjoyable to watch and want to say thank you, I did take some advice from your KZbin challenge and went out last week to film a video and each bullet point I talked about, I stopped filming and started filming again to record the next bullet point and it made me enjoyed filming that day as in the past I would usually start filming and if I mess up I would stop filming and restart the whole recording again and there times it did frustrate the hell out of me. Once again thank you and looking forward to watching the final video in the challenge. Also noticed you had the DJI Osmo Pocket3 Camera, I brought one of those back in December and it is a nice camera.

I am a relatively new content provider here on KZbin and I can relate to what you are saying. I am still working on being more natural, rather than presenter mode. Good job!

YES - I'm on day 2 of my personal YT posting challenge. I've uploaded two long -form videos (one 6 minute today and one 18 minute yesterday). I'm an artist (oil on canvas - impressionism and depth psychology works), and I'm trying to develop art sales by somehow building some interest here on KZbin. I've learned that it's really difficult to hone in on an audience and their needs . . can't quite put my finger on my ideal YT viewer. I'd like to get designers, real estate people and actual collectors watching the videos. . . but I fear, like with Instagram, that I've just got voyeurs that like pretty pictures and time-lapse videos of artwork in progress. Best stats win so far is a SHORT that has 500+ views and some likes. You inspire me Virginia! Much thanks! P.S. I'm set up to sell merch (t-shirts, art prints, puzzles, mugs, etc.) . . . and that's another potential avenue for developing sales through YT. Lower cost, non-originals or expensive prints.
