Does Warlock SUCK in Cataclysm? | Cata Classic

Ive been getting asked a lot about the state of Warlock/Demonology Warlock in Cataclysm. So, I decided to make a quick video explaining why warlock is pretty good still and I show some of the new rotations we will be performing in Cata Classic. I only showed Demo Warlock stuff for now as it will be the dominant spec.

Maxcam addon sometimes exists, but I just googled max camera zoom and eventually one of the commands works

Ele shaman should be pretty good. Arms warrior and rogue (w/ legendaries) both seem potentially insane

Everything besides frost mage and bm hunter is basically viable in cata. With fire mage, surv hunter, arms warrior, ele sham & rogue being the best

yeah i know nobody loves affliction demo. I do ! And i'll stay Affliction forever ! This is the strongest and funnier gameplay :D

You stay orc especially if you are demo most of the time. Goblin is also very good though with the 1% haste and rocket jump. Troll is like 3rd best.

Warlocks in MOP get a gazillions times more enjoyable to play in MOP with significantly higher mobility. There are rewards to playing Demo in Cata if you're above average skill and don't mind 17 buttons, but it's not fun pet twisting, keeping track of several cds, dots and switching between shadowbolt, incinerate, and soul burn. It doesn't fit on a 9 button razor naga.

destro will actually be better in the first raid tier and on every single boss fight with medium to high movement after that aswell.

We'll see I think. Pserver data isn't the best to go off of for sure. And this will be the first time blizzard servers will have early cata tiers with the balancing of the last cata patch

From 2019 until now it was a good run with my lock but even now in ICC Prog mage just beats the gameplay feeling for me. So either my journey continues with my new mage main or ends right after our LK hc kill.

Fights with a lot of movement, demo is going to suffer a lot. You'll want a destro/affi offspec for them. All raids will have an ele sham, so don't worry about the loss of buff. Destro and affi use basically the same secondary stats.

Didn't watch the video, but no warlock doesnt suck. Good dps overall from the 3 specs, brings 5% crit and 8% spelldamage regardless of spec (wich make it a must have in 10 mans), good spell cleave with aff wich will be usefull on t11, demono being amazing for any monotarget bosses. Add to that DI, a res battle, HS. You'll definitively want one in 10 man, and some in 25.

Feels like you're biased, considering you're playing demo as a main spec? I'm fairly certain affliction outperforms the other specs by far, especially in 4.3.4. Atleast that is my experience from playing on 4.3.4 servers over the years, but I could be wrong.

I think it might eke out in terms of raw damage yeah. I looked at whitemane logs a bit and it seems that it might? It seems a bit weird to run many though when mage exists is all. Mostly just for the b-rez and DI I'd imagine.

Demo is significantly higher on ST than Aff. Aff pulls ahead on the fights that you can multi dot.

Np brother. At first I was no lifing Aff on there and trying to see the difference. But Demo was just too strong. The burst, opener and even just throughout the whole encounter it's too strong, as you know. Plus to be able to swap from ST to AoE instantly and do that much dmg is nutty@@Nukinfutzzz

Lol a lot of it was gear disparity tbf. I was only 358 ilvl in the clips so like t11 geared and firelands has been out on the server for a while. I was definitely a little undergeared compared to most people

I suppose. I'm excited for cata regardless. It gets a ridiculously bad rap compared to how good the expac is. Dragon soul is a questionable raid and lasted far too long sure, but t11 and firelands are incredible plus a ton of the classes are just incredibly fun to play.
