NO. DO NOT feed water into the intake. Period. I actually tried this, using a tiny straw to meter the flow, thinking that would allow it to vaporize as it went in. I ended up with a hydrolocked engine and most of the water was still sitting trapped inside the intake manifold obstructing the flow of air and sometimes splashing into the intake valves. Now I'm replacing the engine...

Havent watched the whole video, but oil and filter change after this is a must. Universal oil spray in the intake after water cleaning is recommended before shutdown as well.

You don't think the oil steam from the PCV will prevent corrosion? Did you see how oily wet the hose was when he pulled it off?

waterinjection can get great results in terms of lowering cilindertemprature and gaining horsepower ... a disclaimer tough the amount of water injected needs to be fine tuned and controlled for abvious reasons .... olso your are diluting your engineoil ... the blowby gasses are going to add steam to the crankcase .. if the percentage is high enough severe bearingdamage will occur . also water intering the combustionchamber is going to alter to compressionratio and push engineparts way beyond their designed stresslevels ... its so much more than just ading it and hoping for the best

Could you do this same procedure with lacquer thinner, Techron, or another hydrocarbon liquid cleaner? I was going to attempt a pressurized set up to the fuel line, but this seems easier. Does this clean piston rings and the holes in the ring groove of the piston? Thanks

Yes, absolutely, i will do it, if you watched my last video, i will clean the rest of the carbon with liqueur thinner

Do you replace gasket everytime you remove intake manifold?
@Mike-om4ro2 жыл бұрын
It's good practice to replace any gasket that's been disturbed, but if it looks to be the rubber o-ring style which can be reused.

I highly recommend you to use carb cleaner instead of using water due to corrosion ..there is a lot of special material in market that is made for avoiding and cleaning carbon consumption on valves and other car parts

Water/methanol mix ? I’m researching this as a permanent and continuous system that will clean the valves with every rpm the engine turns
@altruismfirst64892 жыл бұрын
Depends on the engine, been running this method for 20 years once the engine is warmed up and specially freeway running without issues as long as you turn off water injection manually a minute before stopping even your exhaust last longer without soot build up.

U can burn the carbon by going on the highway. It is meant to stay in rhe dpf

Is this for directed injected engines or gdi only
@sbrader972 жыл бұрын
It will work on any engine its just that direct injection/gdi suffers more from carbon buildup on the valves due to the fuel not cleaning the top of the valves so its less of an issue on port injected engines
@shanequinn83562 жыл бұрын
Your idea is good but too fast, maybe use less water and over a much longer time. You only need a little steam over many kms to slowly remove the buildup. Water should be half the petrol spray volume. Also try 20% metholated spirits (ethanol) in the water. This little steam will gently clean the petrol engine combustion chambers too.

Methanol based windscreen washer fluid in the mix, a little bit.

In order the really clean the valves you would likely need to slowly run gallons of water through the engine .

Water dont compress. Unlike gas which can be compress, water is not. Never use water inside combustion chamber, it will knock your engine and bend your connecting rod
@AliMECH3 жыл бұрын
So as the fuel if u say so, but let's think right, the water not fill the cylinder completely so there will be no room for compression, the amount that goes in is drops and after the intake it will be vipor,
