You could build a sick diy board or buy a crazy board from some of the smaller vendors. Boosted or Evolve Boards are more for the average to light person but with the right board for you you can be just as fast and even faster if you want.

I was just joking. I've had the bamboo GTX for over a year and a half now and I can go as fast as I need to....which normally the fastest I'll go is around 22-23mph and that's me being just about 200lbs. I can go faster though, but I like to stay safe out there. I don't even use GT mode unless I need the power going up hill

Thanks for doing this video. I'm glad you did and appreciate the transparency, it shows a quality brand and customer focused company... I knew there would be a difference in performance but didn't think it would be that much, but it totally makes sense. I dont know if it's possible to make a setup for heavier riders, different belts, or bigger more ventilated motors with more torque as opposed to top speed. I'm currently shaving off a few kgs but will never go below 92kg with my build so not a huge difference. I dont think I would be fully happy with that performance so I'm going to hold off getting an Evolve for now.

Thanks! The boards perform really well with heavier riders in the majority of circumstances so we don't feel there is anything 'wrong' with the current line up. I'm sure most are and the ones that aren't probably wondering drop thos kind of coin to find out the hard way but my point was the +250lb-300lb riders out there I have a couple of friends that push those weights and don't have much to say for my self at 245lb on a good month and 256lb on a bad one... it's the biggest thing holding me and my friends from ordering your grate boards! Plus Alaska is full of hills and hard trails with nothing but endless miles to go between places... it's an incredible place but rugged is an understatement and a board that will handle it all and are weight class just isn't on the market at this time... that's why I bring it up and hope to.some day soon see a version tailored to the big guys and girls that still get out and ride ! ! ! Keep in mind these tests show the extremes. That hill is STEEP - not the kind most people will encounter on a normal ride. The heavier rider achieves about 85% advertised range too so actually closer to what is correct than the lighter guy!

Also I am 74kgs. Ridden mine for 4 hours ,3 days in a row....and now I have to charge it for the 1st time !! 😁 Guessing I should charge the remote as well. 12 hours riding all on one charge. My board has exceeded all statistics so far. Super happy. The only small complaint I have is that one of the tyres has been placed on the rim with the grip pattern in the one wrong direction. @evolveSkateboards
@evolveSkateboards 4 жыл бұрын
The wheel set up and temperature would make a difference, but the main difference would be riding style. While the boys rode in GTR, Nick didn't do a huge amount of start/stop acceleration, and he wasn't sitting at top speed the entire time. 22KM is low range for your weight, so either you are riding very aggressively (which is fun, we don't blame you), or other factors are at play like your belts being too tight.

Call me crazy but 2k is steep as hell for a board that will barely get you up a decent hill at around 200 lbs.

Chad Priddy I’m the heavy guy in this video (227lbs). I’ve ridden everything from Boosteds to the Chinese brands to the super high end boards. There’s nothing at the GTR price point that can compare with its climb ability on AT wheels.

A quick question please, the max range given on electric skateboards. At what speed is it measured. Example. My board has 3 speed settings 35 K 20k and about 12 k . Is it safe to assume is measured on the mid setting or not.
@evolveSkateboards
@evolveSkateboards 4 жыл бұрын
Every brand measures them differently. We measure a 'real world' scenario such as this, but other brands measure it at a slow speed in the lowest mode.

How often should I charge my GTR if I ride it 10km a day. Should I charge it every night?
@evolveSkateboards
@evolveSkateboards 4 жыл бұрын
The battery management system keeps everything balanced so charging it every night, or every 3rd night won't make much of a difference to the longevity of the board.

This finally answered so many of my questions! Excellent vid!! I'm 100+kg and bought the GTX because of its big motors. I stick to smooth flat hard surfaces with minor inclines in GT mode riding street wheels. The battery always outlasts me!...and that's on a 25 km ride. I get up to 38kmh on good stretches with more available otherwise it's just good speed cruising. This board blows my mind...absolutely love it. I am on a mission though, to keep my weight in double digits. Great review guys! Thanks.

David Kelly On 97mm wheels the difference between these two guys is 20km. The heavier rider gets 47km on street so gets closer to the recommended range.

Why don’t you sell bigger motors
@evolveSkateboards
@evolveSkateboards 4 жыл бұрын
The motor itself isn't necessarily the weak point. A bigger motor will increase strain on other parts of the electronic system and throw out the balance we have created with the GTR.
