I'm 32 and working as a housekeeper. It wasn't bothering me when I was younger, because I could just make some money to travel and that was it. But as I'm getting older I'm realizing I want more from life than just washing floors and drying towels.

In America, we are generally taught from an early age that we must go to university and work as hard as we possibly can to achieve the most financial success possible. We often judge our success by our material possessions. We generally have less leave time from work to travel, and in many cases are made to feel bad if we take “too much” time off. I’m always so envious of the apparent freedom of Europeans to live simply and travel the world. Your current feelings are understandable, especially because you’re about to be a father. What ultimately matters is that you have a livable wage from somewhere and are able to give your child the best life possible. Your love for your child and your emotional availability is what they will remember, not what you did for a living.

Hi Petr, must say that the home that you are in charge of cleaning looks very clean and well organized. You must have mastered the art of getting your job done efficiently and keeping your managers happy from year to year. House Keeping is a very necessary job and a hard repetitive job to keep one motivated. Wishing you, your girlfriend and about to be born little boy, all the best in Iceland.

Thank you Petr for this video, it really resonated with me. You see, I am 56 years old and through my life I have worked in so many places and worked so many different jobs. I have been a chef, a store manager, assistant store manager, various constructing work, worked in fish factories, wholesale jobs and many many more. Today I work two jobs, one is where I go to the local supermarkets and stock up the soda department. You know, fill the shelves with Pepsi, Red Bull and so on. My other job is where I come after the work day at one of the local fish factories and we clean the place from top to bottom. And the thing is, I´m the most happy work-wise as I have ever been in my life. I´m making a good living and I have never had as much free time for myself as I do now. But on the other hand, it´s not exactly anything impressive, is it? I mean, as I said I´m 56 years old and I have two not-so-glorious jobs. While most people my age have "more important" jobs than me, or so it feels to me sometimes. So I totally get what you mean. On the one hand I´m not exactly proud of what I do for a living but on the other I really don´t care what other people think, I´m happy with what I do and I make quite a decent living off of it. I shouldn´t care and 99% of the time I don´t. But there´s that 1% when people ask me what I do for a living when I sometimes wish I could tell them that I´m a bank manager or the like ;) That said, if I can I would like to finish my work career doing exactly what I' m doing now. I´m not looking for anything more prestigious just to look "better" in other peoples eyes. But I do know what you´re saying and a small part of me feels the same way. Thanks for that thoughtful video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is exactly what I was thinking about when writing this video, I guess it was one of those 1% days when I felt self-conscious about it. 😅 Thank you for sharing!

My name is Bobby, short for Robert. I am challenging the shit out of you. What right do I have? None, except that I care. You are preparing to fuck up your life, your lady's life and your son's life. Get over dream and fantasies. Hey, if you want to be a photographer, make a good life and you can do it without the financial worry. You are completely effing off with this failure shit. Let me describe Petr to you: he's relatively young, he's hardworking, he's got a lady and a boy on the way, he's intelligent, he's good-looking, he's a people person (but doesn't realize it) HE HAS THE CHOICE OF WHAT DIRECTION HIS LIFE TAKES. Listen, I'm 58, I've met the poorest of the poor and have met multi-billionaires (15 at the time) and toured their freely. It wasn't a guided tour, my friend did tile work for them. Ned Johnson (Fidelity Investments and Insurance), RIP, just told my friend Paul to go wherever he wanted. FYI, his daughter Abigail runs the business now, family is worth 28 billion USD, assets their company manages 3 Trillion dollars. What's different about them and you and me? Nothing except they have more money that they need. Part 2

Petr, why should anyone give a shit about your life? Because inside of you beat a good heart. You of the fuzzy face...lol. I gave you three suggestions, about careers. If you ignore that information, you had better get some better fucking ideas. Life is friggin short. I find something worthwhile in you, Petr. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time giving you my life force. But, you are worth the time. Your "Failure" video was a cry for help and I can see it as clear as day. Petr, it's not desperate, it's life.

Part 3 Pete, the world gives us very little direction today. I gave you 3 suggestions of careers, you can do any of them. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO. Here's the deal, one day your son will question you about why you're poor or well to do. Your options will be: I don't know or some terrible person told me to pick a career or suffer poverty.

Hi Petr, your videos are great and I know where you're coming from - been in your shoes in the same type of situation. Being a father definitely puts stability and security at a more prominent priority. Feels great to have lived a life full of adventure without regrets before starting a family. Hope you get to enjoy some final adventures before your son comes. You are a hard worker and an excellent content creator. Don't feel defined by the means at which you aquire resources. Keep doing you. All the best.

Hey man, I really enjoy your content and if it means anything, some of your videos were really inspirational for me. I don’t know you, but from the videos you have shared here I have no doubts that you are going to be a good father figure and a good example for your child. A hard working man who follows his dreams. I sometimes have similar thoughts, just like the ones you mentioned in this video. Even though I have finished university I work in retail at the moment, but the occupation or career is definitely not what defines a person. Coming from Eastern Europe and now living in the Western part, I know exactly what you meant by not having the possibility to follow some of the dreams, but at least there are some opportunities now and new goals. Keep up the good work both in your personal life and on KZbin!

Short answer, in my opinion: Absolutely not. I think I can understand where you are coming from. I've never identified with any job either. Important is how you treat others and how you raise your children.

Congratulation! Looking a the date of this video you must ba a father now! Just a question though: if you only work half the year in Iceland and travel the rest. How do you do that with accommodation? Where do you live? And can you only rent for 6 months and be sure you can come back next year?

You are a professional nomad, and an awesome youtuber. If you are stuck somewhere in your life, maybe try reading a book. You may find some answers there. I read Allan Pease the other day and it surprised me.

Hej Petr, I wanted to let you know that I was praying for you, your lady and your son who is on his way into the world. I thought that I would share an idea for a new video with you. Everyone takes video of the large Lutheran Church in Reykjavik, but looking through videos, no one has done any video tours of the inside of the church.

Hej Petr, I just wanted a reason to contact you Petr, most of Iceland has been videod by others. What I want to know is why you're screwing up your life, with a son on the way. You talk about failure you are not there yet. But you are on your way. You are getting ready to screw your girlfriend and soon to be son over. I lived the life you are in, it only gets worse. You need a kick in the ass. Get yourself back to the Czech Republic and start the basic studies in Law, Medicine or Nursing. Brother, you're living in a dream. HERE IS THE REAL WORLD, IF YOU DON'T START YOUR CAREER NOW, WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG, YOU ARE FUCKED. i @@PetrHerold

Part 7 Petr, you know as much about me as you can. I have hidden nothing. Maybe I missed something in not mentioning the death of my late wife, Anne, 7 years ago. YOU NEED TO OPEN YOU MIND, LEAVE YOUR DEPRESSION IN THE PAST AND SEE THE FUTURE OF A FATHER. Your son is going to ask you questions one day. Why not be the brave man in the story. Czech history is full of heroes. Be one of them. Why suggest certain paths for your career? Because I know that in the West that if you stay strong in your own path, you and your family will end up in a good place. For the record, how many letters have I written to others? None. You inspire me. I want you kids to have those fancy Icelandic sweaters and hats.

Part 8 Petr. If you have the courage to follow my advice you will live and pass into the next world as a strong man. Your wife, your children and your descendants will live well. Yes, sadly money is part of the journey. Would you have me lie to you? I have been in the presence of billionaires, you don't have to do that, but you have to make your world magnificent, due to money, sorry about that.

The End. Petr, I have given you decades of life in minutes. My last words out of love to you and your family is go home to the Czech Republic, choose a career--maybe you won't like it to start. BUT, IF YOU FOLLOW THE ADVICE, your family will live nicely for the rest of your life. God Bless and Keep You and Yours, Bobby
