Delivered a nice even cut, has the super tight turning ability kzbin.infoUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend I was looking for, and is just a blast to drive. It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!

Yeah, I'm in that club now...had weak wheel after engine gets good and hot. Googled all that I could and determined it was a wheel motor. Replaced wheel motor for $700. WRONG. Looking like transaxle is bad since I cranked the belt tension on that pump as high as I could go and still no dice. New transaxle? $600.....UGH. Annnnnd not having any luck finding a how to on actually doing the replacement. Double UGH.

That looks like a fairly straightforward fix. Ever try automotive anti-sieze compound on that? The stuff is great for bicycle freewheels too, but it's made for O2 sensor threads. I don't think it matters much if you use the silver or copper colored stuff, but read the labels if you want to.

I agree, it's more of a dry type of lube, if used lightly and also prevents rust almost like a graphite lube.

@lumpyzx2645
@lumpyzx2645 3 жыл бұрын
Most of the grasshopper deck belt tensioning springs are supposed to be 5.75" from end to end not counting the hooks, just the coiled part, I think a few are supposed to be like 4.75 or something

There is a much easier way to clean the bearing surface. Instead of using a scotch brite wheel, us your battery powered drill motor. Just chuck up on the threads and use crocus cloth. Turn on the drill and place the cloth onto the shaft bearing, move back and forth. Continue until shiny and clean. Then clean out the bushings. All that is left is regrease and mount. Work done with pride and gusto. Nice job fella too. VF

I have a Husqvarna YTH2548-XP with the HG-0160 Hydro unit and my reverse is ridiculously slower than my other mower which is a John Deere Sabre 17.542HS. I have tried reaching down and pulling back on the accelerator pedal to see if there is any slop in the mechanical actuation and there is none. Considering this, it still backs up really slowly. Forward is very good, but reversing takes some patience. You think there is something going on within the transmission ? What is the forward/reverse speed supposed to be for this tractor ? Any idea ?

When I say old, I mean 1960's, 70's, and early 80's. Before MTD bought them out. The last 30 years of cubs have been nothing but chincey sheet metal jobs that are designed as cheap as possible. The _old_ stuff was built to last.

This guys an is wrong, NEVER use and angle grinder or some such sander to remove rust etc from a round or for that matter flat wear surface. It just gouges the surface, future wear will be vastly accelerated. Use a strip of fine emery cloth or abrasive on your finger pulled back and forth (or wrapped around a round stick for internal features). This will clean the surface and still leave it round with no flats.

@@rngbluerhino13 I don't see you're point. First, he did not use emery cloth, which I would have used also, second, how does a person know a video is crap until they watch it?
