She looks amazing!!! As an introvert T4 with a secondary T1, I can relate 100% to everything Kerry said about being exhausted after being outgoing and super social, and needing to recluse and recharge afterwards. Owning my 4-1 Type and learning to honour it has been so empowering.

I am the same as Kerry, a 4/1. My type 1 takes over in the store as a social butterfly excited to chat with the sales people and try on everything and then when I get home my type 4 takes over and I am overwhelmed and exhausted and don't feel comfortable in any of the pretty clothes i buy. I am going to work on accepting my type 4 and then try shopping as my type 4. I bet there will be some incredible results!

T Shumway Ditto! The social interaction on a one to one basis helps me feel better about my purchase at the time, but I get home and and my purchase looks like it was bought for someone else! I'm aware that this technological age gives me the opportunity to view styles and looks before I get to the shops and it's such a benefit/trap. I can research what I think will work for me and go straight to where I need so I don't get distracted. But, I'll take an AGE researching it!

Wow, that is one of the most amazing makeovers! Obviously, Kerry was attractive before; but now she is truly stunning and you can feel who she is - a confident, intelligent, strong, interesting person. In retrospect you can see how tired out she was from not being herself - it's like there was a blurry lens in front of her that has now been taken away.

I'm also a 4-1....I'm very solitary and happy to be a type 4....my secondary type 1energy I can sort of control and let it out whenever it pleases me such as in social situations or I may put a spark of whimsy in my Type 4 fashion such as adding a bow or adding more color....it really works for me....I am SO Type 4, but I use my secondary Type 1 whenever it pleases me to do so

I like her comment that it “turns on”. It’s a perfect description. I am a 4/1 and in many social situations and social work situations I have to turn myself on. On high contact days I do fine, but feel completely exhausted at the end.

This was very helpful. I’ve been all over the place, but when I look in the mirror, there is no question that I’m a Type 4. However, I’ve been a bit confused, as I’m not exactly still, and I’m fairly outgoing. But on reflection, I realize I’m a 4/1 with a Type 1 mother who always pushed me to be very social. The Covid lockdown has actually been a relief for me. I know that sounds terrible, but I was very happy not socializing. This video was an aha when you both said that she got tired when leading with her secondary. Yes! Thank you.

This is wonderful! I am a T4, and I've been figuring out my secondary, which I think is T1. I relate 100% to the experience of becoming overstimulated when being 'on' around people, and having it exhaust me! I, too, pulled away from socializing for the same reason. I shall further investigate T1 as my secondary. Thank you so much! Oh, and even though I read your book years ago, I have revisited your program because of Diane in Denmark. Lots of love from The Netherlands!

I'm a 2 with a secondary 3. I also find my secondary tiring at times. My 2 loves engaging with others in a more intimate setting, so when I go out with a larger group, I find I'm rather exhausted when I get home. I need the time to just decompress! I found this video so interesting and helpful.

Exactly! As an elementary SpEd teacher, my position requires me to be happy and bubbly to motivate my young students. I’ve tried to explain to colleagues that I am not physically, but mentally drained at the end of the day. I don’t even want to run errands or interact with others. I just want to go home, alone, and recharge before hubby comes home. My tendencies toward planning, organization, punctuality and perfectionism leads me to accept T4/T1.

Totally identify with what she said about being compared with her very outgoing sister. It's so hard when you feel like you have to compete with that, and always fall short, to get any attention at all. I'm pretty sure my older sister is Type 1, very pretty, outgoing, and popular, just "more" than I can ever hope to be. At family gatherings, it always seemed like everyone just wanted me to sit in a corner with my mouth shut and do embroidery or knit or clean up by myself while she held court. Some people remember when I was really young and say I was kind of sassy and outspoken and funny. We moved all the time when I was growing up, and I couldn't keep up with all the changes and constantly having to make new friends. I just kind of faded through the years and I can't remember who I'm supposed to be. Over the last few years, I've felt like I need to figure all this stuff out, and I'll get started, but it brings up a lot of stuff from my childhood and I get overwhelmed and stop.

It sounds like you need to do some healing work, to let go of the negative self-talk. No Type is better than another. You need to stop comparing yourself to your sister. Here is a great article: my.liveyourtruth.com/dyt/5-hidden-reasons-women-dont-see-their-true-selves/

As T4/2 I resonated with this, my wardrobe has some "softer" T2 colours/patterns mixed in. As a teen I was very bold/true colours that always popped and the decades since then lots of grey/muted items have crept in...that I don't love! Thanks, time to get back to bold....

I really relate to this. In a social setting I always feel like I have to be friendly and outgoing and this makes me feel very drained and tired afterwards. It often feels like I have to keep the conversation going and I really would prefer someone else to contribute sometimes.

I really relate to this. I thought I was a one but just couldn't live that way without feeling utterly exhausted. I have multiple conditions (health and neurological) which are not served by pushing myself to be that energy level. I am finally recognising and embracing my T4 energy and am so happy there.

I am exactly like this but primary 1 secondary 2. I feel like I am split right down the middle. I love to be social, but get worn out. I like structure in my clothing clean lines, etc, but can't do the bold colors and can't stand black. Too light of colors though or too many "fun" patterns make me feel silly.
@edennis3202

LeMaster Life I agree. I look at some of the clothing suggestions for ones and just think they're totally wrong for an adult. There's no way that a woman could hope to be taken seriously in some of that stuff.
