Thanks for clearing this up. I checked everywhere under the hood (2005 v6) and couldn’t find it. Looked in my manual and it showed it in there since it covers all second gens. Was highly confused for a second 😂

Our 2012 threw the P2440 & 2442 this week. My dealer...Hendrick Yota Concord NC...replaced both 2’ndary injection valves and air pump that came with the new spiffy cover all under warranty. Great dealership choice for service!!

After your last UNI filter video I installed one on my truck. I have a 4 Banger & they don't have the plastic over cap like you do. Your comment on water splash & making a splash guard prompted me to make one out of a spray paint can cap. My pump is located up near the back of the grill/ headlight area & I think the splash guard will help with rain spray.

Toyota in Dallas, TX replaced mine free of charge two months ago at 35,000 miles in my 2012 Tacoma. I had to remind them that the emissions systems had a 10 year warranty, but they did replace it.

May be a little late here but the UNI is a washable filter but must be oiled with filter oil before use. It does not come oiled from the factory.

For those who do just want to replace the original, it’s basically the same sort of filter sponge found in a garden pond water pump. Most good nursery’s should have replacements that can be manipulated to fit just like new. I myself am running both as I spend a fair bit of time in dusty environments

I commented on the previous video. I was one of the ones that had to replace everything and I was one of the lucky ones that had to pay out of pocket (right around $2k). I can let my experience be a learning one. I tried to get it covered under warranty, my truck as a certified pre owned and when it broke my truck had less or maybe just over 30k on the odo. Truck was only a few months old to me. I tried to make the emissions argument they still said no. I contacted Toyota and they said it’s up to the dealership if they want to cover it under warranty. I contacted my lawyer he said not worth taking it to court. So please guys do this upgrade!

Factory replacement filter pn is (edit, found the kit for sure) 04008-3520C. This is a “filter kit,” it includes the top cap and filter.

Just changed mine out to the UNI filter. My Tacoma has 52k and my factory piece was barely dirty
