It's one of those fun facts that she was the highest paid actor on GotG v1 Dave Batista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillen and Chris Pratt were mostly known from tv and Marvel insisted that James Gunn at least find a movie star for Gamora. At the time Zoe Saldana was coming off of Star Trek and Avatar, so if you want to give your weird Sci-Fi project credibility, she was probably the most desirable option they could hope for.

Since she mentioned that she wants another brown/ Latina Actress playing Gamora, then I say let’s cast Ariana Greenblatt as the new Gamora 💚. Not to mention she even played the younger version in Avengers: Infinity Wars (2018), and even said so on her February 2022 Instagram live when someone asked her if she would be back as Gamora, she said that it’d be dope 👍🏽 I also think that Jenna Ortega would make a great role as Nebula (wearing a bald cap) I DO however wish & hope that Zoe will come back to play Gamora again in the future if she’s interested. She will always be our Gamora.

I gotta say: I'm a big fan of Zoe Saldana. I was sold on her in GotG, and I have to admit- there have been many movies she was in that I didn't realize she was in but I know the character. She should be another example to these new actors that think they deserve to be actors or even famous. She is an incredible character actor (which is rare for women) and she does great work. I've never felt her performance should have been left out of a movie. Another actor that does the work and proves they deserve to be there by doing so.

What I realize is this: Basically out of all her popular movies (and Variety did a good enough job with that) the only movie where Zoe Saldana is starring in as the lead is "Colombiana (2011)"! All other examples are either co-lead (with Sam Worthington) or supporting part. Now, Colombiana (2011) happens to be my favorite movie of 2011. But the movie itself is very much of its time, granted you can say that about other movies on here too.
