I adopted my dog, Layla after she had been in a shelter in Texas for one year before being transferred to my local shelter. I thought that a year was an interminably long time. I can't imagine being chained up for ten years. Layla shows her gratitude every day and has a dog door so she can go outside or come in any time she wants.

Don't come to the Philippines. I don't know why, but in the place where I'm living, several houses have their dogs sitting in cages. And they don't take them out. I've never seen these dogs outside of the cages. And they look miserable. Happy for this little guy!

He is so, so appreciative of his new home and it breaks my heart to think he would constantly awake in a nightmare that he couldn't escape from for ten whole years. Dogs chained up outside or left outside is an old idea that should die off quickly, Rusty is a good example of why it is so bad for them! I'm so glad he's escaped his old life now, he seems very happy to be retired and living the good life now :)

I shake my head in disbelief that someone would treat an animal like that. They should never be allowed to ever have a pet again! Thank goodness the wonderful workers from PETA were checking on him every day and were finally able to rescue him. Rusty is a beautiful dog and I'm so happy that he is now being pampered and loved by the kind-hearted couple that adopted him. ♥♥

Yes there are, but most of the humane animal welfare laws are in the northern states (animals are generally not treated well in the south‼️…..they are tethered to chains like this poor soul and are not spayed/neutered and allowed to roam around and breed!!)😡…..it is a real problem!!….My sister and I have adopted dogs from Alabama, who are then transported up to northern states and adopted by people here…..the US is a BIG country (and each state has their own laws unfortunately)😞

People should be screened before they get a pet, they don’t deserve anything. I have gotten rescue dogs and a rescue cat before I got a puppy or kitten. They deserve the best life we can give them. When I had to put down my 16 year old dog, the vet told me that they have never seen anyone do what I did for my pet(family), I rescued her from a lady whose mom passed away. Precious was such a sweetheart. I miss her and every rescue I saved from different situations. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🐶😻🦅

The dog in my posting photo was on a chain outside in Romania for 8 years. When she developed a hernia they dumped her at the side of a busy road in the snow. She is the sweetest dog you could hope to meet and loves everyone (except we were on a walk and saw an old Romanian gypsy woman and freaked out). The only problem is house training her.

I wish so badly every single doggie chained outside, alone could have this come true for them too. It hurts my heart so much when I see one outside by themselves and all in the world they want is to be part of their pack. And the owners are usually clueless and careless about it.
