It's the end of summer. I'm back and school and I wanted to take my mind off the blues of having to return back. So I spent a weekend along the Strasburg Railroad.
The power for the two days I was out there was M-Class Ex-N&W Locomotive #475. As many know since then #475 has gone through a little makeover. The headlight is now on center of the boiler door vs being above it. I personally prefer the older look vs now. Anyway the Railroad as many know is located in the heart of Amish Country in Lancaster County, PA. It's about a five mile line from Strasburg to Leaman Place Jct where it meets up with Amtrak's Keystone Line. The Railroad has it's Tourist Operation along with a Freight Business it also has for many businesses nearby to Transload Supplies & Materials from the Railroad to then be locally delivered.
We'll follow the train back and fourth between Strasburg-Leaman Place while soaking in the cornfields. It's a neat operation keeping the historic part of Railroading alive and well in the form of Steam Power. It's so fascinating and impressive the amount of engineering that went into building the Locomotives and Equipment when it was built mostly in the Early 1900s. Let's dive in.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Thanks for watching.
