I do agree with this is some instances, there's not always someone to blame; however, I don't understand the burden of having to prove the negligence of the defendant....it's the defendant's dog, how are they not responsible for "damages" the dog causes to someone else or their property. Of course they're responsible, I don't agree with our beloved Queen Judy on this one.

@@tate6809 JJ also glazed over the fact that the defendant accepted fault and agreed to pay 100 % of the bill. In a real arbitration case, the defendant would be ordered to pay. In this particular situation, JJ knows the show pays the judgment so she's not willing to grant the win unless she can be satisfied both parties are not just trying to get the vet bill covered by the show.

I had to rewind just to make sure - Judge Judy said that the defendant has contributed to some of the vet bills. The plaintiff wants her to pay ALL of the vet bills. I'm not sure if an amount has been stated, but if the defendant thinks she's not entirely in the wrong (like she's beginning to explain at the end of this video) it doesn't make sense, friend or not, for her to pay for everything. That's like going to someone's house, breaking your leg due to your own fault, and expecting your friend to pay for all of your medical bills. Friend or not, it doesn't make sense to expect them to pay for any/all of it.
