I just brag on you all the time! I learned how to groom my Pomeranians from you, my two PomPookies, my mini poodle yorkie mix , 45 # pound puppy and get compliments all the time. I give the credit to you, how great they look. I bought my equipment based on your suggestions, and this is important to have the best tools. They look beautiful. 🥰 thank you for being such a good teacher. My seven dogs and I send hugs and love. BTW, I am 78, who says you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. And, I love to groom my dogs, makes me so happy.

I love using a reverse 5 on the armpit and sensitive skin areas when doing a seven on the body . Its safer for those areas . 🤔. it gives a very clean and finished look. Instead of doing a reverse o guard on the face/ head.. why not just use a 1 guard non reverse?

I have 5 dogs, mixed breeds, mixed hair types, I had to take on the grooming chores myself due to cost and covid. It's been quite the learning experience. A LOT of research, trial and error, sheer bravery on my part, sheer patience on theirs! Your videos have been pricless on this journey! Your so right in that the process develops a different kind of bonding with our fur babies. It's never easy with so many dogs but not for the reason one would expect.. when the tools come out they all want to be first in line! crazy right?. I agree with other's comments regarding the way you handle dogs, calm, firm, and KINDLY. Many times I wonder why someone would choose this line of work when they have no clue- or care about the whole dog?. Your a wonderfull person. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us, our dogs are happier and healthier because of you.

Hey Olivia! I am seeing this comment 2 years later, how are you doing? Did you decide to be a groomer? I loved being a groomer, I did this many years ago professionally and it also gave me a little side gig for after I retired. Back then, I started as a bather and learned cuts on the job with a good teacher. go groomer is 💯 correct that we get better and better each dog we groom! It’s a fun career that gives you a few options to make life easier at home with our own pups as well as a way to make a few dollars with friends and neighbors when needed. Some cuts can look intimidating but using these tips provided, you’ll be a pro in no time at all😉

I invested in a Wahl clipper and a set of blades, a sturdy portable grooming table that I have already used and really like. I have a large farm sink in my kitchen perfect for bathing my dogs. Oh yes, and we have two PomPookie puppies that I will groom too. All my dogs are used to being groomed. Sadly my groomer went out of business during this pandemic. When I was 30 years younger I groomed all my dogs then, so I will do it again. I am 75 and thrilled I found your Channel. YOU ARE JUST THE BEST EVER!❤️. And, you are a gifted teacher. Thank you❣️

Thank you for the video. I love how gentle you are with the dogs. I have always given my toy poodle a bath & blow wave (bath, fluff dry, check sanitary areas, face, ears and trim if needed), every 7-10 days between grooms. My girl is a quiet dog and the groomers have started a doggy daycare making it a noisy, scary environment for her. She has been progressively showing more signs of stress each visit for a while. I finally got the courage to try doing her face and feet last night. I was so scared I would hurt her, however the dog new the routine better than me and was moving her head to guide me. I got one side of her face done and the light globe above the table went out 🤦♀️. My daughter got a torch so I could finish the face and we left it there as I wasn't trying to do around her pads without adequate light.

What I loved the most is your emphasis on safety. While you stated explicit cautions (e.g. don't use blades that can catch flaps of skin), your demo showed safety practices that came to you so naturally they weren't mentioned but apparent - like the secure placement of your fingers around the dog's snout the entire time you worked on her face. And a lot of grooming was accomplished with thinning sheers instead of long-edge sheers. I feel much more confident about grooming my dog. 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐! ❤️

I love watching your videos. They are so informative, not to mention helpful. I have a Maltese poodle and my vet said dogs don't really need their ear hair plucked, because the hair prevents more dirt from entering the ear canals. His ear hair isn't overgrown and really hasn't grown very much at all.
@GoGroomer Жыл бұрын
Some people pluck and others don’t. I have been leaning towards leave it alone for the past year and haven’t noticed problems. If a dog has a packed ear, I will pluck some of it to balance the hair and allow some ear flow.
@kimberlypeters1658 Жыл бұрын
@@GoGroomer I agree with you on balancing out the amount of ear hair. I was taught in grooming school to pluck, but then the vet said no plucking. So I thought it would be a safe bet to follow his advice. But since you've been grooming dogs for such a long time, I thought your opinion would be valuable. And I agree with you that if the ear has too much hair inside of it, it might be a good idea to balance it out. Thank you 😁

This is my favorite how-to-groom video yet. I've been watching a ton of videos because I want to become a dog groomer. I'm a little old to change careers, but I'm deadset on doing it. Actually today is my 60th birthday! Do you think it's too late in the game to become a dog groomer? I'm still in good shape for my age, active. I've been a nurse for 37 years and hate it. I think your dogs are just awesome to work with and I'm sure your groomer enjoys having them on the schedule❤️It's always a pleasure to groom a dog that seems to enjoy the process.

Good vid. I like how you really show exactly what you are doing clearly in the hard-to-reach sanitary areas, and show us clearly the differences in the clipper attachments! Excellent!My only note would be to do a voiceover edit on top of the clipper noise so it's easier to hear what you're saying. Still good tho! Now I need to see one that teaches how to make the dog patient and not terrified of the noisy tools.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that uses combs on top of a 10 blade. Pretty much the same way I clip other shih tzu's. I think Zoey has Yorkie hair myself 😅😒😅 for real.

Thank you, your so patient, not only with the dog but you really make sure we get it clearly. I just receive my wahl km 10 today. I decided to do my two poodle (miniature and standard) Hope I can be an ok groomer… you are my grooming guru !

I could do that at home? My dog acts like I’m killing him when I just give him a bath.

Thank you for the grooming refresher. It’s been a very long time since I groomed a dog professionally. I now have a darling Shitzu rescue. This is a super grooming demo !!

Great job. I have a new appreciation for the effort involved in dog grooming! There is alot of patience and skill required - not to mention the time involved - the bathing, the drying, trimming the feet pads, the ears, the face, the tail - not to mention the rest of the body - the anal glands and trimming the nails! Kuddoes to you!

This was very informative. My family owns a dog wash and we offer shave down, not styled cuts but all over even cuts and I've struggled with making the feet look tight. Your video provided some great tips and overall information in regard to how to make a cut more tight. Appreciate the tutorial.

She is wonderful. Really, if you work with a dog regularly from the time they are young...they understand and except grooming as a part of life:)
