Too funny! 😂I’m a veterinarian who practiced in the Washington, D.C area and this is so true😂I had a Caucasian client whose dog used to get mail from the IRS. I can’t remember the dog’s first name but he had a human first name and his owner called him by his own last name, Williams. He was a Golden Retriever.

We have a cocoa to but we are white/ we have a mix of dog names and people names- I tend to purposefully mis- name my pets ( not always but often). I named a gold fish rover, and a dog that is was black snow flake, and a cat that was was white midnight…my mother uses the letter “c” as the First name for her dog. I also use what they remind me names- like our chiquaqua is foxy cause I think she resembles a fox or a black and white cat- cowie- cause of black and white cows -etc my mother renames our feral cat population. Yeah, I had noticed all of the dogs at the dog park had human names Chloe, Jake, Sophie, Dave, etc. About a week later my little niece was showing me her class picture and started naming the kids Cheyenne, Dakota, Savannah, Houston, etc. Later I was talking to a guy at the park about this and he said, yeah I know, I'm Austin, this is my son Tyler and that's our dog Henry. We both laughed.

When I was a kid a guy in our neighborhood had a mutt named FUTHERMUCKER. Nobody in the neighborhood ever pronounced that dogs name right. No matter how you said that dogs name he would come running when you called. I really miss that dog. LOL!

I used to have a miniature Schnauzer named Augustus McCrae. So….his theory checks out. He had diabetes and was on insulin injections twice a day and I’d have to check his blood sugar by pricking the inside of his lip. Michael Jr’s theory checks out. Dog also had bad arthritis, so he had his own dog stroller and I’d take him to work with me. 😂

We found a cat in the neighborhood. My neighbor’s daughter (who is black) suggested we call him “Beretta” since that was the name of the main street in the neighborhood. My daughter (who is white and was only 2 years old) couldn’t say his name, so she started calling him “Bret”. Ironically, he has escaped several times and we have had 2 different neighbors named Bret and one Brent, so we look crazy calling the cat’s name.

I’m a white person, and my dog was a short legged mutt named Bibbers. When we found him at the pound, they had a little bandana around his neck, and the kids thought it was a bib. So they named him Bibbers. But I’ll tell you, these are the names of all my white family and friend’s dogs: Opie, Lucy, Penny, Rudy, Dallas, Rory, and Beasley. When I was a kid, I grew up in a neighborhood where most of the dogs were either Pit Bulls, Chow Chows, or Chihuahuas. They had names like Cujo, and Elvis. I’m not telling you if their owners were white, but… I’m sure you know.

😂😂😂😂 Michael Jr., I am allergic and don’t have a dog. I did allow my kids and ex to have dogs without knowing that’s why I was sicker. He named one dog Spike that ran away. They, at 3 and 4 years old, named the next 2 given to us Cinderella and Snow White (Collie-Shepherd mix). Ran away. German Shepherd from champion parents came next for $35. Sergeant Major had 5 kids, 5 pups, and just wanted them to have a good home. His registered name was Baron Avon Rustoff, but we called him Rusty because of his coloration. Later, there was King the Husky that was given to us. We gave him to a kid outside of the city. A $25 Chihuahua without papers that I named Cisco.
