Hey Larry, I don’t think I’ve ever commented on any of you videos. Just wanted to say, “I really appreciate all of you content! You have helped me more than I can express!”

Larry, I really appreciate your strong sense of ethics and the way you care for dogs. It inspires me every time and I learn so much from you. It helped guide me away from a trainer that I consulted who told me that most owners don't correct dogs hard enough. I ran away fast! I live in Los Angeles and have yet to find the right person to work with my fear aggressive dog without becoming fearful themselves and treating her roughly. I've been doing everything on my own and learning tons from you. I wish there was someone like you nearby who could give me more tailored guidance but until then, you're the best that I've got. Keep up the content! Thanks so much!

I know your struggles. Might reach out to Joe at Advanced canine academy and talk with him. He’s a friend of Mike Ellis. Good luck.

Considering that most owners don't correct their dogs at all, which often leads to many of the issues they experience with their dogs, I would say the trainer you consulted with was correct in their assessment there.

This is kind of long but I started following you over a year ago when I had a midlife crises and adopted a crazy husky whose owners were going to put him down for being unruly. I got the training collar, ordered your book and hired a trainer from pet smart. Now they gave keys and you gave me skills. Is he fully off leash? No not yet. We had some set backs when my Klee khai got cancer, however, he is now the most amazing dog. He walks on a pinch collar perfect. No poop no pee just walk. He can socialize with other dogs and after his training, out of my 3, he is the best. Not an escape artist. Knows boundaries. I even forgot to close his cage last week and I came home and was the best dog while I was at work. After my other dog crosses the bridge I will start working harder with him again. But when I could not even take him to training without the help of someone driving with me he is the perfect car partner. I take him with me everyplace. I want to say thank you for helping me have the best life partner and saving his life. He is the best dog ever and becomes an even better dog daily. His only recall I can’t get is when he gets a groundhog. :) but I can get him away from him on my educator. Again thank you for your content, heart and love for dogs.

Sadly the average dog owners do not study or research anything, they just go get a dog and think walks (if lucky) , food and water is all they need. Heart breaking. Great chat Larry. Totally agree about us learning from every dog.

The challenge for me has been dogs or puppies that are not food motivated. Should we move to higher value food (chicken?) which will motivate, or pick up all food and use for hand feed training only?

I have a Corso pup of 9 months who was totally engaged with me, very well-behaved and loved training, playing and being with her humans - until we got a 3 month Boxer pup. Now the Corso is all about the puppy and will ignore me in a way she has never done before. I limit their playtime together and have them together sometimes with one or the other in a crate and totally separate them other times according to a routine. How can I get my super-engaged clever Corso back??? I'm beginning to think it would be better for them to spend much more time apart.

please don't ever focus on going bigger, this you've explained here is the reason we all follow you and need your content. better camera work might be ok, but the facility, fancy shots, editing, music etc only remove the minute details of honest authenticity that helps so many. even "mistakes" you catch on camera, helps us know what we are doing is normal and part of improvement . anyway, only found you recently and can't express how much I've learned from you in such a short time even after following those millions making friends you mention. I want a dog phsychology course from wherever you learned it. cuz I need to get the why before I understand the methods.

I been trying to find something to help on vehicle fixation on walks. Car not so much pick-up truck and bigger. nothing break his focus everyone I talk to say the say distract him circle him. His 130 lbs Rottweiler otherwise we'll behave friendly. In the yard of leash he won't chase only on walks and I worry that his going to hurt my wife at one point. Any ideas someone need help 5th Rottweiler never had this before

We have the same situation. Two year old Rotty, she is a sweetheart but a wild child. My husband stops her, makes her sit as the truck passes. Eventually she is getting used to it. These German rotties are very intense.... The key is to make everything neutral for our ultra protective dogs. I think females are even fiercer than the males. I use my e collar for off leash, she is better off leash than on. I taught her this cute trick to "ask pretty", she sits up on her hind legs and moves her paws up and down. Unfortunately whenever she wants something, she does that and in public she looks like a begging bear. And people are afraid of bears. Lol. Anyway, if I hadn't stumbled across Larry, I don't think I could have handled her. Your wife won't be safe with her on the road until she's trained btw, I've gotten really hurt myself. Good luck! It's well worth it!

I’m an average dog owner, I set up my Cavapoo for a bored and train. On average the trainer says that my pup will be with him about 60-90days is this normal? He is also suggesting a Martin systems Ecollar. She is about 15pounds. Any help Larry?
@lillieberger2883
@lillieberger2883 2 жыл бұрын
I would not send my dog to board and train. If you follow Larry, look back at his previous videos warning about this. Most average dog owners greatly benefit from going to training sessions with their dogs. The owner needs more training than the dog in most cases. Why does a 15 pound dog need an ecollar? Why would you let a stranger start her on this without you being present? I’m not against ecollars, but most dogs don’t need them. My 130 lb fear aggressive Shepherd did.
