Totally agree. I second that! I specialize in Behavioral Rehabilitation with dogs form teianing puppies to rehabilitating dog son the euthanasia list. I got to say my brother your timing and execution of the clicker as we both know and many others know it's not the tool it's how you use it. Bro your timing is inoecible. I'm classified professional but I got to say you're kinda my cheat. If I need a quick refresher if I haven't done this type of dog work in a while I goto your videos. You're brilliant and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Much success and all the blessings. Succeed and prosper my friend.

I’m currently fostering a coonhound and have never seen a dog who lives more by their nose. So, I’ve been desperate to figure out some way to use up his energy in a way that he could find mentally stimulating and fun. Thank you for this video! Excited to start with him tomorrow.

I've been a professional dog trainer for more than 20 years and love your tutorials. So simple and easy to follow. I even taught one of my own dogs to clean her toys up using your tutorial. :D Thanks for your videos and I'm glad you're still making them!

Read all the comments and I was hoping someone was having the same problem but nope. I was super excited to start and my basset hound is scared of the clicker. After the second time he went in the room and could careless about the treat. I guess we need a super beginner how to use the clicker video lol

This is great! Just wondering why you don’t feed close to scent to add value to scent.

This was one of the better videos I watched! What a good looking Labrador too! Question, when would we add the desired physical behavior when the find the scent? (Down, sit, or look at us)
@TrainingPositive Жыл бұрын
I like to train the alert behavior early in the training - once it looks like your dog has made the connection between the scent and the reward.

I'm not sure how well this will work with my toy poodle XD. he's smart, but he throws a tantrum when we're playing with treats under the cup and me switching them around, cuz he can never find it. Does he just have a bad nose????H'es always sniffing things so I somehow don't think thats the case but even two cups and he never gets it

Make the task easier! It sounds like your dog may be getting frustrated, a very common issue when we ask for more than the dog is ready for. Hopefully the tutorial gives you some ideas on how to break it down further.
