Starting at the RATE fight...merge, missiles, triple A and power lines. Crazy begins early in this. So, airspeed was your goal. The bandit was flying ellipses instead of circles. Tightened down on each end to get off a shot. Great tactic until you figured it out, LS. Bravo, more f16 screen shots.... thanks

This scenario was CRAZY! I loved the SAM camera lol- imagine this at Night, LOL Awesome job by the way- GS has been getting killed REPEATEDLY by those Strela 13s , and you were able to not get ganked.

Seemed like your SAMs were better than his, at least by a bit. Question - on his two missile shots that hit you, it almost seemed like the missiles maybe couldn't see your flares at all. Would a slight vertical jink possibly help in such cases, dragging the missile to a position where it COULD see the flares, or is the loss of energy too dangerous to make it worthwhile?

Now that was a gritty battle @LongShotChannel. To add SAMs to the battlefield gave this dogfight an added level of intensity. Clever sir. Keep it coming. Would love to see an F-22 and a Su-57 Felon dogfight in the same scenario. See how stealth lessens the SAM lethality.

@longshot I know you might not know the answer to my question Sir...But I am looking forward to the first GS/Longshot F4E video...hopefully a strike mission in the new F-4E with some air to air combat mixed in to show the multi role of the Phantom. I think the F-16 just got a competitor - I have mostly been flying the F-16C but now I think I will be flying the F-4E at least for the next couple of months. By the way - nice video Longshot! Viper is an awesome airplane!

Wait, Longshot, you made him fight with R-60M & you have the aim9-m? That's dirty pool, brother. You have a AA missile that is a generation ahead. A fair fight would be if you gave him the original archer r-73

The fact that they are generation ahead doe's not mean that they are better. And I'm talking about DCS, you can see that in the results of the fight.

@@LongShotChannel so dcs doesn't necessarily model these well, fair enough. ***I think the history of these, if you are interested, was the AIM-9M was the first western IR missile that could actually be considered 'good' and the R-73 was the first 'good' Soviet IR missile and they were developed and produced both in 1984 but the R-73 was substantially better than the aim-9m and we didn't know that until berlin wall fell and the east germans refused to use the AIM-9 so the Germans built the IRIS-T instead. so the aim-9M really shouldn't be a fair fight versus the r-73 either because the R-73 should be significantly better. I think the AIM-9L and the R-60M should technically be more close to eachother in the game but probably no one else in the world cares about this but me.

Real world F-16s do not have tracer rounds due to having the CCIP.

It's both. For enemy lock from ground units, the radio call is "Mud spike" For a lock from air units: "spike"
