just saw this. i doubt you'll see this comment but jump combos in this style used to be a staple to old-gen mechanics, they were previously named "angel krits" noted by the names in the past of bloje and calebs accounts being "AngelKritBloje" and "AngelKritCaleb," these combos were only possible by extremely elite players in their day including a few others like jamal, divina, and bob750 (now known as sweatgod lol). these combos have a really deep history, they used to be what separated a good player from a great player. crazy to see them coming back in this style now, it's weird to see some people not fully knowing its history. just thought it was neat :)
@Dawgsrlife2 жыл бұрын
No worries, I see your comment here and now :) I never really knew where they came from specifically despite having a rough idea similar to this. The way I picked it up is partly from subconsciously watching clips and mostly from experimenting on my own with the idea of not sprint-resetting every hit. Eventually, I'd add a crit to it to get closer to my opponent as a result of the nature of the movement, and shortly after, I realize that this could become a combo lock. Later I found out that a few players are able to do this as well, and that it originated quite a while ago (in terms of the community's time). Simultaneously, as more of these players started to leave the game, fewer people had any knowledge on this as a result and the style was kind of dying out, so this video's main focus was towards sharing this concept before it gets forgotten - as no one else has made a similar video. Anyway, thanks so much for briefing about the history of these!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t the FBD at 5:24 also incorporate the increase in normal force that caused the jump? The upper arrow should also display the increase in Normal force by F = MA which allows for the net upwards force in the jump. Without a normal force the player would just phase through the ground haha
@Dawgsrlife2 жыл бұрын
yeah i didnt even consider friction, drag, and the normal force so the FBD is scuffed asf - but this is just to illustrate a jump combo so luckily the FBD isn’t too important :^)
