This is the best doggy TV! I had to constantly flip the phone as he was pawing at it so much and knocking it down. It's fantastic at desensitising him to dogs barking as well. 🙂

Yes, the dogs spend almost the entire day in their kennels. It's boring and stressful. Dogs either get walked or go to the playgroup. Some prefer the human contact of going for a walk. Other prefer playing with other dogs in the playgroup. Budgie, the stray dog that I caught just outside of the shelter, he really likes to go to playgroups.

Why are the leashes on ? You take the leash off before going in.

This question comes up every now and then. The dogs have leashes (drag lines) so that it's easy to separate them if there's an altercation between dogs or for the handler to simply get the dog to remove it from the playgroup. If dogs start fighting, a big risk is when other dogs jump in and attack one of the dogs (conflict driven). Lots of people nearby are trained and ready to run to the play yard and help separate all the dogs. It's also dangerous to get near their mouths if they're fighting. So having a leash makes it safer and easier to get them apart. But if a dog is latched onto another dog, then you don't want to pull them apart as it will cause more damage than waiting and getting the dog to let go (bite stick, hose, air horn, etc). Basically using the leashes is based on years of experience with many thousands of dogs across hundreds of animal shelters. If a dog consistently shows a certain set of behaviors, then the handler can remove their leash, but we have so many dogs, so few handlers, and limited time, so almost all the dogs keep their leashes on.

No problem. I actually worked with a seamstress company to create all those different colored leashes in the newer videos. The leashes are thinner material and they don't have a loop at the end so they're less likely to get caught on things. I bring the leashes home after recording and wash them.

I tried to avoid pausing as much as possible in some earlier episodes, but it was difficult to keep doing and I felt like the dogs weren't being well introduced. I do try to avoid pausing with the dog staring directly into the camera in what could be viewed as a hostile "hard stare" to avoid frightening dog viewers.

Luna is still at the shelter, unfortunately. She goes to playgroups on a fairly regular basis and has a kennel mate named Pablo. In terms of dealing with shelter life, I think she's gotten grumpier and a bit more difficult when dealing with other dogs and people. If you look in the description of the videos in this series, you'll see links to each dog's adoption page. So if you want to check on any particular dog, just click the link.

I'm home sick and my service dog in public access and my old dog Hana watching this videos and just loving it. ICHIGO like Ichigo kurosaki from Anime Bleach. My Service Dog 🐕‍🦺 in Training is named Meliodas from Anime Seven Deadly Sins 😅😊. Is this like a shelter, or you're letting them out or is it a Doggy Daycare Center I just wonder they're so all adorable. My only concern is the grownup Brave B after legs and at the neck area that is a sign of aggression dominance that needs to be worked on for sure with any dogs that should be happening because a composer risk for both that dogs and if it comes in contact for the dart that is even more dominant aggressive type of attitude towards other dogs because the dog could snap or the dog on the other end could snap at that dog and there could be a dogfight. Because I have seen this before and then it just escalated and then my neighbor's didn't break up two dogs up and then they started fighting and it was really bad, they were okay though at the end even though they had to go to the vet because they got in a really nasty dog fight but that behavior isn't just play Behavior it is a dominant aggressive type of behavior when a dog isn't trying to go out the other dog's neck or legs that is not okay.
