Yeah it’s like kids it’s not his fault but when I was in hospital for about a year or 2 on and off my family used to drive to see me every morning and evening. Someone would come with treats GALORE, Waitrose fancy health drinks with chia seeds, different pots of healthy porridge 🥣 but also spent a fortune in the cafes and bring me anything I wanted, the whole bakery and coffee which they pretended was caffeinated to appease me. Nobody could tell me no I was so fragile that they were worried I’d be too weak and depressed to continue my osteomyelitis treatment and I would end up back with my abusive ex boyfriend and literally did this to make sure I didn’t leave and die of sepsis or worse lose my leg (I couldn’t handle it😢) anyway! My point is (I’m so sorry this is so long!) but I ended up 13 and a half stone at 5ft 4 ☹️😬🤦🏻♀️🤣 nobody was willing to risk telling me and i never realised for some dumdum reason 😂 anyway they did it for love, pure love. It’s often the way with pets too, but you just can’t do that to them, you have to be their strong leader and protect their health and make good decisions because they have no choice. Kind of like being bed bound and waited on hand and toe until you resemble Jabba the Hut and just demanding lemon drizzle cake and lotus biscotti cheesecake I was basically replacing hard drugs with a hardcore luxury baked goods addiction 😂😂 ❤❤ oh my days. I’m so sorry I went off course! It started when you said chonky 😊❤ haha xxx

The amount of times I've had to tell my parents off for pampering my dog too much. When she's been with them for longer periods of time, I can tell they haven't really told her off and let her do her own way 😆

That would be my problem. One of the reasons I don't get a dog!

My pup used to walk through the woods and trails with me. Now that I can't walk, she won't leave the property without me. I tried hiring a dog walker, who really tried everything, but she won't leave without me. I'm on crutches and it can be a hassle when I take her to the vet for toenail trimming. She won't go in without me, so I drag the crutches out and walk alongside the vet tech until they get her into the building. She's a rescue that I've had for 10 years now. Sweet dog but severe grooming issues, we've worked through, again, and again, but they keep coming back. Drugs actually make it worse! I was raised with dogs, and other than a few years, I've had a dog my whole life, and I've never had issues like this. I was able to work through her other issues with ease, she's a smart cookie, but these things are impossible. I'm on SSI and can't really afford a groomer, but I have to because I can't groom her myself, and I wish she would walk with someone else. When my grand-kids visit, she'll walk with them, but they are rarely here. I love my Lacey girl and want her life to be the best.

I remember struggling with my pup so much even though I was firm like Graham instructed and then praised him for the good things - turns out what I (and the trainers) thought was pure stubbornness was actually him in excruciating pain because of a rare bone growth disorder he had. He was my first pup so didn't know that his quietness and stubbornness meant he was in pain - animals can hide it so well. I felt sooo awful and guilty afterwards as we had been assuming he was just being stubborn and treating him as if he could be taught in the usual ways, but nope. He since passed away at only 6. I still feel guilty and sad. But it was so rare that even the vets didn't know what was wrong for a long time (most vets never encounter this disorder in their whole careers). I wonder if Graham would've picked it up had he met my pup... Just goes to show, one approach doesn't always fit all.

At least she's trying to do something about it. Vet diet and has now learnt how to be firm to walk him. That's more than most people in the same situation do.

Well she asked for help so can’t really complain. Least she just didn’t give up and not bother so I’ll give her props for asking for help. But it’s bit crazy her asking her daughter to stay on when she’s got a life & marriage to plan.

And I thought our dogs were spoiled. My mum tries to teach her dog to count. She counts all his stuffies and then she tells him how many friends he has. I said, "You know he's a dog right, and not a human. "He understands everything I'm telling him." He is such a suck.

This poor dog is so overweight and out of shape, no wonder he doesn't want to walk. I blame both the "owner" and the "trainer" for putting this poor dog through unnecessary torture. This should be reported as animal cruelty.
