In this throwback episode from Cesar 911 Season 1, I am faced with an emotional challenge. This family's very first dog is not only showing them his teeth but is biting and attacking his owners! Melissa, the owner, has seemingly done everything to remedy this situation but it has gotten to a point where I need to step in or the dog could be put down.

I would NEVER think that my ignorance should determine if a being should live or die- I am NOT GOD! ...Sometimes people simply do not know how to handle a dog. Sometimes people get "a cute puppy based off of looks" and do not research or sometimes even not care to put the time into training or any kind of leadership that this innocent animal needs and craves! Listen, I am not trying to argue with anyone, I just pray that people will respect life more than just kill something that is not "convenient" for their lifestyle. Love and best wishes sincerely!!

@@lauraapplehoff2267 But it wasn’t just their ignorance, they went through three professionals who were unable to help the dog. They legitimately tried and brought in experienced people to help. Sometimes euthanasia is a choice if it keeps people safe. I understand you don’t think people should be allowed to dictate if a dog lives or dies but there are times when that choice has to be made and you have to be responsible enough to do it if you are choosing to own a dog. Euthanasia is the responsible choice in an unfixable situation, not pawning the dog off to animal services or dumping on a rescue.

A lot of people underestimate dog's, to me I think that some people think oh it's just a dog all it does it bark. Dog's are very intelligent creature's believe it or not. It boil's down to being excited your dog is excited, being afraid to walk the dog the dog can sense this and becomes afraid. Relax everyone and the dog will relax. Believe me or not I have a dog and he know's my feelings better than my husband does. Keep working with your dog it is not hard to figure out.

Hi Cesar, I have watched many of your videos and think you are great person and dog trainer. Your methods really work. I have always thought that dogs have mental problems similar to how people have mental problems and that sometimes they need a professional. You are not just a dog trainer your a dog therapist. You don't have speech communication to use and have learned to read the dog. This video had my eyes tearing. Good people having trouble with there dog attacking them. The troubled mom and the little girl touched my heart. Hope all goes well with this family in the future. My wife and I have both always had dogs as children and have had several since we married in 1975. We have gotten most of our dogs from the SPCA. Our current dog Sadie is an Australian Cattle dog 16 years old. When we got her at 6 months old, we were told that she does not like children. She is very loving to me but has continued to not like children. We have two grandsons and put her up when they come over. The sad part of having a dog is that they don't live as long as we do.

Love these people. Honest and open. I think that is why the dog loves them. Scared of them, yes. Not trusting them, yes. But love, yes. Only true people get that response. It is sad to hear they were all willing to kill this dog "because it was crazy". Imagine how the dog looks at those people. She is trying to tell them she is scared and misunderstood. No one listens. No one ever truly made and effort of listening to the dog. How lonely that must have been. Thank God someone was there to save her life. When that friend came to Cesar, I said out loud: "The dog needs to be killed, so I can have my friend back." And how true was that. She literally said it: "I want my friend back and the dog needs to go." Heartbreaking. But at least she called the right person for the job. I have to give that to her. I'm glad she did. I hope Misty lives a great life from that day on.

I'm both a mother and a dog owner. I care about our dogs, but I live and die for my children. The two groups, animals and children, are worlds apart in terms of their value and importance. Despite caring about our dogs and all the other animals on our farm, if an animal ever aggressively lashes out at my children, that will be its last act. I'll put it down myself. Honestly, I find it very infuriating when parents allow animals to terrorize their children. As far as I'm concerned, that is child abuse.

Maybe you shouldn't have animals.

@@nycbenefits My animals free roam all day long and they've got hundreds of miles of wilderness that they can escape to. They never do. On the contrary, they choose to follow us around as long as we're outside and they all stay as close to the house as possible when we're not home. Obviously our animals disagree with you. I won't say "maybe you shouldn't have kids", because it's crystal clear that you shouldn't, there's no maybe about it. But based on your comment, it's crystal clear that the odds of anyone wanting to have a family with you is 0%

It seems like dogs are triggered by overly emotional owner ( with exceptions). The temperament of the ppl control the dogs reaction to them & the environment their in. Caesar is amazing with all these pups out here! 😊

People have to remember dogs have a pack mentally like wolves. The owners need to show the dog they are the leaders, not the dog.

Yes, and being the leader is all about attitude and confidence.. and it’s the softest way to be a leader because we never hit dogs or be mean.. Cesar’s way is the best..

Wolf leadership was changed to 'dominance' so it is understood. better. A very subtle change eh? If u want to disagree and do so. That IS what dominance is. You are not 'leading' you are dominating. And no, this is neither a criticism or a correction. It is an addition. Subtle difference. Fun huh?

@@clairecadoux471 I'm not entirely sure I understand what you are saying. And please know, that it has nothing to do with you, but with me. My English is not the best, so I do have a hard time understanding sometimes. With that said. I would still like to share my thoughts on what I am getting from your comment. If that is ok. What I am understanding, is that you are describing the actions here to be dominance, and not leadership. While also saying there is a very subtle difference, but a difference nonetheless. And from what I have learned, is that the difference is actually not all that subtle, and what we do with our dogs, compared to what we see being done in wolf packs, is leadership. Not dominance. "Leadership" in dogs refers to guiding and directing behavior through positive reinforcement and clear expectations, while "dominance" implies establishing control through force or aggression, often using physical intimidation to assert a higher position/social status. While wild dogs and wolves use aggression and violent means to establish authority. Humans teach thru verbal communication, food/treats, and setting boundaries by using corrections to establish a boundary has been crossed, or that their actions were pleasing to the human. Which is moreso leadership, than a display of dominance. Of course, in some cases, you do sometimes incorporate dominant behavior to claim certain boundaries/territories. But that is just a small part used in addition to other methods, to establish leadership role. If that makes sense.? I apologize, because I am still learning, I have a hard time articulating my thoughts. Also, if I misunderstood your comment, and my response is irrelevant. Please disregard my comment entirely. Thank you for your time and patience. I hope you have a wonderful week:)

People don’t realise that if EVERYONE followed Cesar’s way, they themselves would be more confident, less emotional and more STABLE.. CALM AND RELAXED AND THE LEADER IN EVERY SITUATION BECAUSE OF CONFIDENCE.. NEVER UNSURE AND NEVER SCARED.. in control of every situation.. and I mean in every APSECT OF THEIR LIVES. Humans choose who we are and how we behave and everyone can change the way we are.. and that’s the beauty of being human,, we can choose to be happy and confident.. and completely change the way we were.. IF WE WANT TO…and live in reality instead of living in a made up reality we created.. seeing things that don’t exist like these people.. I never make a fuss when I come home and I don’t give affection or even acknowledge my dogs until they are calm and sensible.. dogs don’t get offended or think like humans.. they are happy I am home and that’s ENOUGH.. they don’t get upset because I don’t say hello or excite them.. and I wish people stopped thinking dogs have the same emotions we have because they don’t.. it’s ridiculous making a fuss when we come home and creates unstable dogs.. overly excited because humans relate excitement with love but that’s wrong.. dogs live in the moment so stop putting human emotions onto dogs..
